Gone But Not Forgotten

It seems we have lost Travis Trotter. He is no longer with us.

He has moved to another world. Maddock, North Dakota. Population 498.

Travis will probably never pass this way again. I imagine he will be playing championship pool ALONE in the basement of his 80 year old house, where it will be the warmest spot in his house.

I can only wonder what made him move to such a small town. Is it to hone his already ample skills in pocket billiards or was the pressure of playing pool in the professional environment just too much for him to continue. The life of a professional pool player can be grueling for sure.

Anyway, I just thought that some of you if you ever pass by Maddock, you could knock on a few doors (there won't be any pool rooms there) and maybe someone could tell you where he lives and you could take a picture of Travis and his Cuetec and send it to AZ Billiards so that we could remember him properly.

Joey,

Are you sure? I did a check of CNN, FOX News and I Googled his name for news stories and nothing came out of this story of him moving and taking his Cuetec with him when he moved to where he moved.

As I said a couple of times before, I didn't mind TT. His "unique character" added something to our forums that was missing when Bernie retired.

Anyway, how did you learn about this news that you learned about?

I hope you isn't knocking us prairie folk Joey

Funny thing is, this might make Travis one of the closest AZers (to me that is) !

Dave, been to Minot, been to Bismark, been to Grand Forks, even been to Fargo, but never ever been to Maddock North Dakota

are you sure he moved because like terry i didnt hear anything about another pro player moving to north dakota who uses a cuetec which are the best cues in the world for pro players because they hit the best thanks:D

if i am ever passing through maddock, north dakota i'll be sure to knock on all the doors looking for the cuetech professional. with his fame he shouldn't be too hard to find. maybe he can give me lessons on how to shoot and make me as good as him thanks

travis & I are pretty close and he let me know that he peeled all the stickers off his cue tecs and that way he'd be able to steal from them every tuesday night at the moose lodge there in maddock since they wouldn't know he was a pro with a super slim taper and had fiberglass wrapped around his shaft if they knew that he get kicked clean out of maddock:)

travis had left a post to his many friends here on az so that they could read his note to let all of his friends know where he was in case they needed to get in touch with him in north dakota where his new office will be
thanks

I went back and searched thru Travis Trotter's posts, the ones where he wrote and was the author of the things he wrote in his posts when he posted.

I found the now infamous "North Dakota" post where he posted. The one about his office when he gets there into his office, the office with the Cuetec add taped next to his diploma on the wall in his office in North Dakota.

Being curious, I went to Poolhallfinder and I typed in Maddock, North Dakota, that's the village that now has more Cuetecs in it than people in it. Maddock is in North Dakota, where Travis's office will be when he gets there in Maddock. The nearest pool hall is "Opie's Billiards" in Rugby, North Dakota, which, according to Google maps, is 37.4 miles from Maddock, North Dakota. Or, if you line up Cuetec Cues tip to butt, it would take roughly 41,573 Cuetecs lined up on the ground in a straight line laying there between villages to be the same as how far apart where Travis sleeps with his Cuetec to where he can find a pool room for his Cuetec.

What if Travis's office where he is moving to in Maddock is nicer than any pool room? What IF Travis falls out of love with his Cuetec and instead, falls in love with the pine desk and folding chair in his office in Maddock and goes from endorsing Cuetecs and instead endorses Office Max supplies, the ones that have felt tip sharpies and a choice of plastic or metal waste baskets? What if we lose Travis to the allures and trappings, the ritz and the glitter of Maddock?

How old is Travis in years and how many birthdays does anyone know he had? Is he old enough to drive to Maddock or did he have to have somebody drive him while he rode to Maddock when he went there to Maddock.

There's a lot we don't know that we don't know because we didn't learn it yet, so let's not think we know all the answers because some questions we don't know what to think because we haven't heard them yet.

Whatever happens, I wish him well for real.
