I am thinking about buying a good book that covers the ins and outs of banking. I would like to hear about worthwhile titles and your opinions on the books and if it helped your game.
I look forward reading your reviews!
"Banking with the Beard". I've read mine 100 times, looks like it's been through a couple of wars, lol. I had no idea how to shoot certain banks before, after reading it I've got a great chance of making them..It's not magic, no book is, but it is a very good starting point to learn how to bank.
Btw, have you seen this video?:

I agree about the Banking with Beard book. The DVD's are even better, banks that don't but doPretty snazzy shots that come up all the time, but suddenly they are more bankable than a Robert Di Niro movie

Good video but second shot is actually double kiss if you watch closely.. Saw it right away because I shoot quite a lot banks just for fun.
For practicing kicks I thought about leaving a mirror compact on the rail so I can get a better bead on the object ball.
That was too confusing for me....

This would be a good practice method if you could be sure the mirror was exactly parallel with the cushion nose every time and if you could somehow place it right over the "rail gutter". Even then it wouldn't show you exactly where to aim - you have to adjust by different amounts for different angles, speeds, etc. - but the equal-angle image is a good fixed reference for learning those things.I can bank okay, usually I can kick my out of a safety, but not accurate enough to pocket a ball by kicking. I remember there used to be a set of mirrors that you can put under the rails to practice kicks. I thought a low cost way would be to put a pocket mirror (such as a compact) on the rail, and use the mirror principle to refine my aiming.
Freddy's stuff is good.
Add John Brumback's tapes and you'll be ready to out-bank the world.
Don't forget to buy a pinstripe suit.
