Good Luck SVB: My Alarm Clock is Set

While 124 players have been eliminated at the WPA World 9-ball Championship, some having shown fine form, just four truly elite players remain.

It's hard to imagine a much stronger final four than SVB, Wu, and the rightly celebrated Ko brothers, and each of them has a very realistic shot to win the World Championship on Friday.

Still, as an American fan, it's tough for me to focus on anyone but Shane. It has been more than a decade since an American has hoisted the trophy at the WPA World 9-ball Championships, and yet it is in our sights.

The Ko brothers dominated at the US Open 10-ball and the US Open 8 ball, played on big tables, in 2014. Ko Pin Yi won the 10-ball and Ko Pin Ching was 2nd in the 10-ball and won the 8-ball.

... but that was then and this is now. My guess is that to win this, Shane will have to beat both of the Ko brothers and maybe that's as it should be.

One thing is for sure --- if Shane can emerge victorious over these great players who remain, he'll have conquered the world in the finest fashion.

My alarm clock is set. I'm getting up to follow the final matches.

Good luck to Shane. Bring home the World Championship!

The final four couldn't be more intriguing.
The suspense is thick.

Best of luck and friendly rolls to Shane.

With the Ko boys and Shane meeting on American soil with Accu rack winner break format next month US Open, tomorrow will be just the first part of the story, with the rest to follow in Virginia.

This is what I love about pool-the live drama is addictive!

Are you sure? The Ko brothers did not play in the US Open 9-ball last year.

What time?

This is going to be amazing!!! May the pool gods be with Shane tomorrow!!!

Do you guys know what time it all starts tomorrow? Eastern time?

Are they playing both semifinals and the finals tomorrow?

Thanks:wink:

Yes, and yes, 6:30 A.M.
Rise and shine!

I have the day off and will be watching with coffee brewing.

Ouch! 3:30AM in Sunny San Diego (not sunny at that hour!)

For you it should be an after hours party finals :D

Take a nap right now, and go out to one of those crazy San Diego beach-front night clubs, close down the bar and get to a computer monitor ready for action!

Hawaii time would be perfect though

I get off at work 5:00 am pacific time. I'm going to miss the semi-final matches.:(

Good Luck to Shane

I will be staying up after work for this.On another note,I can't seem to find a Facebook share button for the AZ homepage article. Am I missing something? Thanks

I have to say this now....this is anyone's game. Even if SVB does NOT win it,
getting to the final four is superb!!

However, if I had to bet my last $1,000 on this one, I would have to pick Wu Jiaqing.
He not only has the experience of winning this before, but his experience
runs from quite a few years back. The kid knows how to win!!!

If Shane wins his next match, he wins it all!! He wont have any nerves once he gets to the finials..,

Go SVB!!
