Good News - Bad News

The good news is that Efren won $500,000 in Reno and Rodney won $150,000.

The bad news - try and collect it.

The really, really bad news: I sure wouldn't want those two guys mad at me.

Therefore, the only conclusion that I can draw is that the checks will start arriving this week. Especially since it has been exceptionally quiet on the boards from Rodney's followers.

Hows about NO NEWS Jake?

The no news really is the deafening part of all this.

Also, call me whatever, but, I'm concerned about Bernie.

Kieth and Jam too!!

Perhaps they are on a nice little cruise with KT on his little yacht.

Deno is still lurking. He logged on at 9:30 this morning. I wonder why he doesn't log off and then lurk?

Big Brother is watching.

I spoke with a player here at the Open who is due a big check. He is worried of course. He has received no answers to his many Emails/phone calls. I also overheard a UPA guy saying he has no clue what is goin on and he is just hoping like all the rest.

Why isn't Charlie Williams and all of his UPA cronies mouthing off about all of this? After 30 years of tournaments, we all know if Barry is 5 minutes late with payments, at the Open, it will be plastered all over the internet. I guess, when you are a billionaire, you get a little more slack from the UPA.

Kt can't blame it on a huricane or 911. Barry had a somewhat legitimate excuse. I am not saying it was right, but it is better than nothing!!!

Barry doesn't pose any threat to the UPA, so he is an easier target. If the IPT is successful, the UPA could be nothing but a memory. You don't pick fights with someone bigger than you.

Bigger or not it's a motley crew running this joint. I can't think of anything more disrespectful in the history of pool then what the ipt crew have done.

To not pay the players is bad enough but to not answer emails and telephone calls from those same players just adds to the injury.

For all that I've said I wish the IPT could have worked. It's clear they tried very hard to make this into something big. Doesn't matter what anyone says they did hold the largest cash prized pool tournament in history.

I know it looks as though I'm back pedaling from my previous statements but the fact is the IPT was very exciting for participants and non participants. This recent Reno incident seems unforgiving and I hope like everyone else the players get paid.

Lets hope its not the end of the ipt despite the lack of any news for reassurance.

I would rather eat humble pie than see the IPT die.

Well if KT can get away with not paying the players what is to stop Berhman from not paying the players?

After all, he has the same credentials that KT has. Both convicted criminals.

That might be the latests fad. Hold a tournament and keep the money.

What could the players do?

I tried giving you good rep for that but it says I have to spread some around first. Funny thing is I don't remember the last time if ever I gave you good rep.

Edit: not that you don't deserve it. :P

The powers that be don't want me to have a positive rep. Like I give a rats azz anyway. I have been trying to give myself one and they just won't let me.:D I don't think my wife likes me anymore either. I am kinda getting use to it now!

I do, but I lose a lot.

You know what Dizzy Dean said, "It ain't the size of the dog in the fight, it's about the size of the fight in the dog".

I think it was Dizzy Dean anyway.
