Good pool halls in Charlotte NC

How's the one in Matthews (southeast of Charlotte by a couple minutes IIRC?)?
I read the press box is only open from afternoon on. Anybody know if this is true?
I will be down there soon and might need to kill some daytime hours, or a Naj.

Is press box still closed during the days, please?
As of last week The Press box is still opening daily at 4pm (closes at 2am)thru their soft opening period. With their new restaurant and full bar opening now (or later this month) this may change the pool/billiards room opening hours as well. They are looking for daytime crowd for the new restaurant opening as they are staffing up for a grand opening.
This is the best place that Charlotte has seen as for as billiard/restaurant equipment goes. Players are just now hearing about it and soon they will have a couple of tournaments to kick off their introduction. In the meantime SUPPORT these guys by coming out and taking advantage of a free hour of pool... That's buy the first hour and the second hour is free. The current table rate is generally $9/ hour but they work with the customers to customize your player needs (ie single player verses 2-4 players/table) Ask for Andre (sp?)for more info.
This place is awesome... I'm glad they have decided to invest in our neck of the woods. Much needed imo. :smile:

BB, i guess you chickened out!! The Press Box, is really great place, new Diamonds tables, i see it as a good major tournaments place one day, i liked the fact the restaurant is separated from the pool room with doors access , no noise, loved it, i wish i can be there all the time.

Place was absolutely packed last night...with a waiting list started about 9pm. Awesome Food and Drinks and the BEST POOL TABLES IN THE COUNTRY. (13 New Blue Label Diamonds w new traditional Cyclopes Balls) The word is spreading!! New Earlier hours will be offered soon for the lunch crowds as well.
Come out and support this great 'face lift' for pool. Btw both Allison and Kelly Fisher were in this week again offering their support as well.
Chris, Ed, Jo, Andre' et al are working hard to get this business up and running right for us all to enjoy. :thumbup:
