GoPlayPool.com Map Directory is up!

Not sure how this displays for every one else, but on chrome on my mac it is a big mess. Take Colorado, for example. There are about five different sections with cities and halls/bars. Great. But it took me a while to notice each of these sections is scrollable and has quite a bit in each one to scroll through. It would make more sense for each page to have one section to scroll through. Not five tiny ones.

The Idea of this site is great and badly needed. Hopefully you can make the interface a little more intuitive and useful.

Just FYI...this is not a new concept (only new to you). It has been done several times before, over the years. Playpool.com was a great resource, and Ed, the site owner, did a great job of listing real poolrooms. Far fewer poolplayers care about bars with pool tables. Everyone is interested in knowing where real poolhalls are. Occasionally they can be both.

This is a brand new concept, so of course some of the wrinkles need to be ironed out and we are working tirelessly to get everything accurate.

I have this app... tried multiple places it has listed. Some spots I walked into didn't have tables and others were little dive spots but had some really good players. I'm not disappointed with this app because it has made it fun to check out new spots and meet new people, but I also understand time is valuable. I agree with the idea of rating places from people that visit like yelp. I think that could speed the process up of weeding out what is good, bad, if tables still exist, etc. etc. I would help volunteer!

The issue with this app is that it uses the same outdated info that you find in other web sites, instead of using real info from players that live in the area. They need to make the app a clean slate, and use a back end database that WE fill in.

I'm not using any search application for finding a place to play aside from going on azbilliards and actually asking "What rooms are in so and so area?". Spent too much time driving to rooms that were closed.

Scott, we aren't saying that directories haven't been done before. The new concept is that it is an app, so please don't misinterpret our idea of it being new. Plus, we have a lot of features which have never been done before. This is a new company, and please keep in mind that in the last 3 years, since we began putting this together, it's projected that more than 10,000 bars and pool halls have shut down.

We used multiple resources to find the information, which did include calling the establishments and researching them online. We're not perfect though, so we admit that there are mistakes and rooms that need to be removed.

While we appreciate the fact that pool players want to find pool halls specifically, many people are looking for bars that have pool tables, which hold leagues, or tournaments as well. We are all about promoting the sport to EVERYONE, not just "serious" pool players. We are all about finding places that support pool by housing pool tables.

We work daily to clean up our lists and try to have the most accurate information. We appreciate your feedback, and we're working hard to make GoPlayPool.com and the GoPlayPool app what YOU, the user are looking for.

We have done all we can to make the website user friendly for the most used browsers on the market. However, it's impossible to perfect it for all browsers. While we have the website, our focus is the app, so we hope that you are able to view the concept on that platform, which is much more easily integrated with each device. We will certainly take your feedback into account during future renovations or changes in how we display our lists. Thank you for your opinion! It is valuable in making sure our app is what EVERYONE wants! Thanks again!

We are still working on a rating system that will be user friendly without clogging up the app.

While we appreciate the feedback, and have taken into consideration allowing the users to have control over what is entered into the database, we see the same issues happening on other sites, and don't want it to happen on GoPlayPool.com. People add multiple listings for the same establishment, and next thing you know, you have 5 different listings for the same place. We work daily to filter out rooms that are closed, and add new rooms that have opened. This is a big country though, and that's why we're pleased when people let us know about rooms that are no longer open. Please bare with us as we work out the kinks. We're working hard! :-)

Hi Scott:
I think there was a misunderstanding in the context! This is a "NEW" concept! We don't know of anyone that has the pool room directories on a phone app! If you do, please let us know and maybe we can learn how it is done!
Statistically, about 100 rooms per week, go out of business, become a new room, change addresses, phone numbers and add and remove pool tables! Keeping up with that is very difficult!
Please do remember that the app is 100% free! With no advertisements, no pop-ups, no annoying interruptions and controlled by us only and no third party sending you a text message after you use the app or an email.
Putting that into consideration and the fact that, it took us about 6 months to compile the data FROM scratch and not copy paste like some other sources have done, I have to admit that we have done a above average job, if not a great job!
Constructive criticism is always appreciated, so, why not start with you, since I believe you would like to help!
look at the app, or better, if the app is difficult for you, look at the website, and let us know in your area, what rooms we should add or remove!
A helping hand for a product that is offered 100% free is always appreciated.
And, if you would like to learn more about our Company and/or myself or you have some great ideas that maybe we can build on, please don't hesitate to call me or email me! Most people in the industry know me. In case you don't; my name is Ramin and I am the co-founder of GoPlayPool phone app and system, I live in California and you can reach me at: 949-922-2454 and/or email me at: ramin@goplaypool.com
