When I had my vintage Adam wrapped by a local cue maker, he applied some waxy material that made it slippery like a no-wrap would feel with very dry hands. Apparently that’s how most of his linen customers like their wraps to feel.
I like a little bit of friction but not so much that the cue won’t slip through a loose grip.
I gently buffed the linen with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser until I got it exactly how it felt perfect to me. The foam pad roughed up the surface ever so slightly. No ill effects with nearly daily use for almost a year now.
