GoSports 6' table

I KNOW this is junk for us players.... but does anyone have one by chance? I'm thinking of getting it for my dad's dining room. I spend a lot of time at his house, and the nearest pool room is a 45 min drive. This is the biggest that will fit. It uses full size balls. The reviews are good, but they are from bangers of course.

Our local APA has a couple 6.5 foot tables and at least one 6 footer. Games go quickly, but you have a lot of traffic to negotiate and you'll hit over balls more often.
As was said before, any table is better than no tble.

Do the balls drop cleanly if hit with speed? Looking at some close-ups of a video review of the pocket, the cushion facing seems very tiny, before the plastic bucket of the pocket starts.

Edit: oops, I thought your post said your local APA had one of these GoSports tables.

They do.
Our league plays in a couple locations that don't do basic maintenance on the tables, some rails are loose and you can hear it when balls come off that cushion. Some are low from people sitting on the tables, and balls hop off the rails. One place has a pocket where the facing is loose and we keep pushing it back into position, but balls hit into the pockets stay there 99.5% of the time. The ones were a ball hops out are always smash shots and it must just catch the bottom of the pocket just right and hop back onto the cloth.

Any table (err, within reason) is better than no table.
This. There are plenty of things one can work on to improve their game on a dinky 6ft table that may not even accept balls well at speed. It doesn't have to be anywhere near ideal for actually playing games on to be very useful.

I have two tables, one a Valley 88 and a GC IV. I bought the Valley to have an extra when guys were over for a pool night and were hesitate to use the big table.

I use the Valley by myself for practice with the magnetic cue ball to keep in "shape" for when I'm on motorcycle tours and playing bar tables, it is a different game. There are pencil marks all over it as well for various drills. This helps because of the crowding. You get used to seeing other nearly blocking balls and finding cluster shots.

Yes any table is better than no table and small tables can be a tremendous training tool with the proper attitude.

Don’t bother

Ever consider a bumper pool table? They are small. One hall we play at has one and we find ourselves on it every night when we finish up shooting on the regular tables for the night. It can be surprisingly addicting.

This guy i used to run with was a WORLD class BP player. He was at a 9b tourn. and some cat popped-off about playing bumper-pool. They went back to his place and my friend won like 10dimes off the guy.

Update! I just ordered the 6' GoSports table. It will be delivered this Saturday at my dad's house in Philly.

My sister will have a freaking cow. I'll have to get rid of the dining room table and china closet the 3 weeks I'm there before she comes back. ha ha ha. My sister does not live at the house.

I'm in Philly about half the time, and when I'm there, dad and I live at his house. When I'm in Atlanta, dad lives at my sister's house. (he's old, needs help).

In the old days you would see 3x6' bar tables from time to time. I think they were made by Irving Kaye. I know I played on them a few times, the balls all jammed up. It was a challenge to run out a rack of Eight Ball.

ps, assuming I can get the table somewhat level, and it does not have dead rails, I'll bet the house I can demolish my 14-1 and 9 ball ghost scores compared to my 9' GC4 with factory pockets. ha ha ha.

8 ball I want zero to do with. That game should be burned from all the rule books and banned from play, its boring as hell to play or watch.

Here is the picture. It was $429 with free shipping, before tax.
