Hey Guys,

i finaly could add a great Masterpiece of Andy Gilbert to my collection. ;)
I hope you like it as much as i. Let me know your thoughts about the cue and my pictures, please !?

This cue was built from Andy as a Show Cue and it´s named "Indian Sunset".
There are more then 200 inlays in that cue, without counting any rings or engravings in the handle rings.
It´s realy a Masterpiece, and i fall in love with it on this years EXPO, and when it finaly arrived on Friday,
i was not able to lay it down for over an hour, and i hope you can see way !

Erich

No doubt a special cue. Figured pink ivory wood throughout and a very distinct design. The matching joint cap is cool too. Surely its the Gilbert of a lifetime.

Very nice cue you acquired, I am fond of segmented handle cues - and this is not an exception! Andy does such a clean and classy work.

That is the most unique Gilbert I haver seen, it rocks.

You are right Cowboy, it´s realy a unique Gilbert, but i think there are two sister cues out there which are pictured in the
last Billiard Encycolpedia. So when i saw that one on the EXPO i knowed i have to have it.

thats different, far out, kinda navaho,i really like it

You know, i am not from the States, but for me the name "Indian Sunset" fits this cue realy great. Navaho, like you mentioned.
Thanks Dean !

Yeah, the fitting joint cap was one of the reasons i fall in love with it in a heartbeat.
And these whole looking Design - i think a liitle bit Indian - is realy a piece for a liftime - thank you !

Thanks poohkiller, i am a fan of segmented handles, too.
You can do great inlays or great wood in these segments and the cue pops out much more.
And what i know, Andy is doing all these inlays by hand without the help of any CNC or something like it.

This is an awesome cue and Andy is doing some of the finest work out there. I really like it and it should be a keeper for quite a while. Congrats. Are you gonna play with it???

You know when it comes to cues as beautifully and carefully crafted as yours, it doesn't matter that much to me if the inlays were done by hand or with the aid of CNC or aliens or whatever :)

It just looks stunning and pleasing to the eye.

P.S.: I just noticed that you are in the close neighbourhood of me, I am in Budapest, Hungary. I visited Wien / Vienna (Bécs as we call it) just before Christmas and it was great, I won't forget it!

Thanks for your kind words, Tommy, and Andy realy does a great job on this one.
You can imagine, i had to make a few test hits with it, at least i am a pool player, so....., you know, it hits great !
But i will not play with it, normaly i am playing with a little bit less expensive cues. ;)

WOW, great to meet somebody in Europe who has some interest in cues.
Normaly that´s not so easy i found out, but maybe i am on AZForums not long enough.
And it´s great that you visited Vienna, and that you liked it, because i think it´s on of the nicest Citys around.
Hopefuly we can stay in touch, and next time you can visit me in my Billiard Hall.

I have quite some interest in cues, so to speak! :)

We have some true cue enthusiasts from Germany on this board and another great person from the UK - his name is thediamond, aka Simon D'Vali. So we have a couple of 'us' from Europe and another Hungarian mate of me posts here sometimes, he likes and appreciates nice cues as well.

I love this Gilbert and the others as well but I love the 'Rasputin' the most :)

That was the name I came up with for it when Sean from Cueaddicts first showcased it here a little better than a year or so ago. I think it still fits....think of the Great Plains under a pink-red sunset...and you'll see what I mean.

Thanks for the Info, Lisa.
I think that was a great idea from you, and even Andy spoke about the "Indian Sunset" at the EXPO.
So it realy looks like the name is fixed for this cue. :clapping:

No problem....I am honored that the name 'stuck' for this cue, and that Andy liked it as well. :o Every now and again, I have brief moments of brilliance...LoL...I guess this was one of those times. The cue is absolutely stellar...easily one of MY favorite Gilberts. Congrats and enjoy!!

Thanks one more time for your kind words, Lisa, and of course for the idea of "Indian Sunset".
I allready looked at the tread from 2007 when Sean got the name from you. :clapping:
I didn´t know that Sean put pics from the construction on the site - that´s fantastic. I hope he has some left for me. ;)
Last but not least i should thank Sean, too, for giving me the chance to buy this masterpiece, which was his design.
So thanks to Andy, Sean and you Lisa

Your cue is one of the nicest Gilbert cues i've seen. I love the segmented handle design.....
