Man just moved down from Tennessee and he wanted to get better in pool, He also mentioned he wanted to meet new people. Well I asked him if he wanted to join my team for leagues and I can help him out with his game. He said yea. Well I guess the League Operator and the Pool Room owner don't like each other which ok, its non of my business. Well I got banned for "soliciting" when in my opinion, I got banned for helping someone... hmmm...

What pool room is in Port Charlotte? I went through that area years ago.

It's called Veterans Pool Hall... It used to be the place to go to find a good game, but ever since the new owner came in, it's been nothing but kids flying in and out of the place, so it's not like I am pissed about being banned. But it is the place where I first ever picked up a cue.

Sound like someone you shouldn't give business to anyway.

I hope there is somewhere else to play.

Well there is somewhere else to play but only has bar boxes... this place had nine foots and was the only place with nine footers, but I learned that there is a new place opening up but waiting for the permits.

There is no explaining anything to this guy, you tell him one thing but he hears another.

New room!!

New room opening up!!! Yayyyy!!!!

You know Seinfeld got banned from the local grocery store for trying to buy fruit for Kramer who was also banned. Just thought you might like to to know. ;)

Banned for soliciting what? Are the leagues the operator runs being played in the pool room you was banned from?

Sounds like the APA is involved here somehow.

This sounds like a job for "Bill Yard", he'll get to the bottom of this!

The whole reason why they don't like each other isn't because of the leagues, the Operator was the previous owner of the pool room. Something happend and blah blah blah non of my buisness lol

First off, I don't know what league you play in. And before the 'league bashers' get a hold of this thread, the league you play in doesn't make a difference, either.
And I have no idea what transpired the day/night you were banned. I'm only trying to offer a solution.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

That being said, you never know what happens with a person five minutes before you walk in. Anything's possible. It doesn't excuse his behavior, but it may help provide a real reason for your being exiled.

You know anyone that still shoots there ? All it takes is for one of them to ask the room owner, "Hey, have you seen (Al) in here lately ?"

He could say, "Yeah, geez, you know, I haven't seen (Al) in here in a while either". Sometimes a simple miscommunication or interpretation problem leads to larger unintended results. It's entirely possible that he may not realize he 'banned' you.

But if the room owner still doesn't want you in there, believe me, he's gonna tell people what happened. "Oh, I banned him because he asked someone to play on his league team."

Seriously, if it were someone else banned, and you heard that, you wouldn't want to play there either. And if he wants to stay in business, he's gonna have to accept the fact that there is a league in the area, and he'll have to 'deal with it'. I'm also sure this room owner is aware of the new poolhall (permits pending).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

If this guy wants your (and other player's) business, he'll let you back into his room. Even if he meant to toss you, he'll want you to chalk it up to misinterpretation, just to save face. You would just have to decide if you want to swallow the pill or not.

On the other hand, if he doesn't want you back at all, then spend your pool time at the new place or even the bar box place. In time, more and more players will see this guy for who he is. And they will migrate to the other rooms.

It amazes me how many business owners seem to bite the hands that feed them...

Yea a friend of mine had gone in there already and I never told him about the situation. Well I get a call from him asking what had happened. So obviously I did get kicked out so in his eyes with no mistake. I'm not the only person he did this to. And I have noticed that business (at least whenever I went there) was dying. So maybe there is MANY people he banned lol

I dont really want to mention names on here.. but I could tell you that he is one of the best people I know. He has done nothing but good things to me especially within the whole pool thing. He handles everything in a gentlemen fashion.

Don't know if I'm missing something but it makes no sense to me. You asked someone if they wanted to join your team and then got banned? How can you ever make a team then lol.

haha thats my point!! lol It doesn't make sense and the only thing I can come up with is something about me ticks him off and he was waiting for a reason to toss me (even if the reason was dumb) but another thing that doesnt make sense is I really have never done anything to this guy but give him a little bit of buisness.

That's just strange...must have been some sort of misunderstanding somewhere lol...Oh well, hopefully that new place rocks.
