Got stiffed by TX's top OB Tour woman.

I saw them a couple of years ago at Club Casino in Hampton Beach, NH. Rick Derringer opened. Good show considering considering how recent it was. Never saw them before however I did see Derringer at the Channel in Boston in the early 80s.

I saw them probably about 1987/1988 - he opened up for AC/DC. Leslie walked out on the stage and plugged his guitar into the amp and rocked the house. I was a fan ever since as he has a coolness about him.

Hey, Watchez...we're still in a recession...not everyone can be involved in the kind of action you get into ;)

Well hopefully you will get Shane to move to Texas permanently and then the action problem will be fixed.

No, we'll have Shane playing $20 sets in no time!

Hell, yeah. I love Leslie West. I saw Mountain in concert five times. :)

Today I am sober as a judge, and I still enjoy listening to their music! ;)

and Felix Pappalardo...

Great band. Only saw them once, but it was a good one; Mountain and Foghat played at "The Satellite Lounge" in the 80's...good times.

Has no one noticed that the two stories are the same?

She said twice that she would pay him (his story), and then he left before getting paid (both stories)..... :scratchhead:

i think we can do some 20 dollar sets if you want southpaw....but not on your table!!

Whew, what a thread!

There is always 3 sides to EVERY story, his side, her side and the FACTS.

Moral of the story, ALWAYS post, whether playing a man or a woman!

Leslie was totally cool the show I saw. He came out solo with just his guitar and opened with pretty radical renditions of a few Dylan songs. No vocals. Just guitar. The rest of the band came out and they proceeded to kick ass.

For you, PegLeg: Anaheim 1987

I saw them a couple of weeks before this. I saw them on 4th. of July 87 in Foxboro. I remember because they played with Dylan that year and some of the songs on the CD released in 89 were recorded at that show.

I was down on the field in the taper section. I got some decent quality tapes from that show. It was an awesome summer day and I was kicking back enjoying life. Drinking beers and smokin dope.

This is what happened last night. I don't like to gamble with women. Doesn't matter what happens, win or lose, I feel bad either way.

I've twice played this top OB Tour woman some cheap games, $5/game. The first time I beat her out of $10 & the second time she beat me also $10. No problem there. After that I told her I don't want to gamble with women. Then she started saying a whole bunch of other nonsense. I am assuming that she thinks that I am scared of her.

So tonight she saw me at a local pool hall & again wanted to play me some. I said "let's play $2/game" She laughed & refused to play. Then I said "OK let's play a race to 5 for $20 & I only have time to play for two sets. And I beat her both sets. I waited a little & see if she was going to pay me. I looked around & didn't see the money anywhere. I told her "you owe me $40". She said "yeah". That was it. Then I told "you're not going to pay me?" She again said "yeah". But still no money. So I got the hint that she was not going to pay. I just walked out.

Man, if she was a guy, something bad could have happened. But she was girl. What am I supposed to do? I think I made the right decision by just walking out. Now I have one less person to bug me.

Now of course this is only my side of the story, but this is exactly what happened last night. Some of you regular AZers were there, but did not see what's happened. I am sure you know who I am talking about. She may be funny, but not as sweet as she appears. She fooled me also.

Sorry about the rant, but I just have to let it out.

Then I said "OK let's play a race to 5 for $20 & I only have time to play for two sets.
Make me believe what Bonnie was saying when she went to the bar to get change. Sang has something to do and left in a hurry. IMO

wow! I passed out right after work last night and didn't read this thread again until I got to work this morning...I sure missed a lot!

I was there that night and from what I can tell it was a huge misunderstanding on both sides. Bonnie was playing doubles with me & two of my friends before Sang and her started playing. They played while my sis & I sat and sweated another doubles match that was taking place.

Immediately after she finished with Sang, she went to the bar (this might have been when she went to get change but I don't know), then came to sit with us. We sat and watched the other match the rest of the night and I didn't notice anything that would make me think she was dodging Sang...but I also never saw Sang approach her when she was sitting with us. (perhaps he did when she went to the bar but I really wasn't paying attention to any of that)

These players see each other ALL THE TIME at G-Cue so for such a small amount I don't think she was trying to dodge him and when he left (which was before we did) I'm sure she thought it was no big deal. She definitely wasn't short on cash that night or anything, she was buying still friends drinks.

Bonnie gambles ALL THE TIME and has no bad reputation with anyone here in Texas before this...So I still maintain it was a misunderstanding on both sides. Bonnie isn't the type of person to think that she can get by on not paying "because she is a girl". If you knew her at all you wouldn't come to that assumption.

The only issue I see with this explanation is that after going to the bar to supposedly make change she apparently didn't make an effort to approach him to pay up. Actions speak louder than words. I don't see why Sang should have been the one to approach her after the response he got. She lost and it's her responsibility to get the money, approach him and pay up.

Plain & simple

From Bonnie:
I waited to pay him, after I broke a hundred at the bar, by the same table we had played at. I did not see him walk out. I saw him rounding the corner in the parking lot. Guess I was supposed to chase him?

You saw me. I do not feel I have to ask someone to pay up more than two times when I win. On my way out, I saw you standing near Cristina & you no doubt saw me. When I was outside walking to my car, I saw you looking thru the window looking at me.

Bonnie:
I assumed neither of us was worried about 40 dollars. I guess if the situation was reversed I might have tried contacting the person before I went online to cry to cyberspace.

I asked you twice to pay up.

Bonnie:
As he mentioned, I found a way to get his number to fix the situation. I wonder why he didn't do the same? If someone was trying to stiff me out of a bet I don't think I would be the one to leave the poolhall. Again, it was 40 dollars, didn't know there was a problem.

You called me up to call me names. It wasn't too late to "fix the situation" if you wanted to.

Bonnie:
The waitress came over and asked if I was okay, not to lower voices.

She & the manager were fully aware what was going on.

Bonnie:
He could have just asked for the money and none of this would have happened but then I guess mr dragoncue =) wouldn't be getting all this positive attention.

I did ask you twice as previously mentioned.

You forgot to mention: You told the person who told Cristina that you won.

I cannot make any clearer than that. This should be my last post if she doesn't come after me tomorrow.

I'd like to thank many of you for the kind words. Some of you were pretty funny as well. If you sent me red reps for not exposing the name sooner, I understand. If you sent me green reps, I appreciate that. 2 reds & 3 greens, I am still ahead.

Hey DragonCue, Big Truck has been coming on here saying there is a gruge match in the making, Is there any truth to that??? :scratchhead:

Do you believe that there are "always" 3 sides to "EVERY" story?

This is an overused cliche, IMHO. It's often true, but sometimes there's really only two sides.

1) A person telling the true story
2) A person who tells lies, backpedals, makes excuses, or twists facts

and in those cases, person #2 doesn't even deserve the acknowledgment that any of their BS might actually be true

Note: I'm not referring to this particular situation as I know nothing about it. Could be 2, 3, 4, 12 sides for all I know ;)

I have spoken to both parties. They both agreed to play. Streaming has been arranged, referee committed, and myself and akaTrigger for commentary.

There are some logistics that are still being worked out. Also 1 is having second thoughts.

I will keep you posted on if and when this will go off.
