The "Best of the very best" statement seems pretty fishy too. While they do look old, they also appear to be fairly generic for the time of their individual creation. Maybe there's a few gems in the collection but I wouldn't risk 500k+ on it. Scary auction for sure... definitely only for the experts lol.
This one has been on EBay several (100) times by now.
You think that if any part of that collection was of any real significance, some collector would have had it by now.
For myself, or probably most collectors, it would have to contain many Balabushkas, Gus's, Rambows etc to be of any value. I'm lucky if I have $550
to splurge with at any time so that puts me out of the running.
Theres no doubt there is a lot of historical value to his collection, but at averaging out that each cue is worth $2000, thats a little far fetched.
Its like the guy that was selling a prototype Meucci for 60K a while ago.

they should at lease cover the cost of the packing, shipping and insurance.
