GPS Your Case?

Finding a way to chip a cue makes sense to me. It shouldnt be that hard to do.. Sounds like another way to sell more cues to me.

I would think something like this would be one of the better options all things considered.

I just ordered a TrackR - http://www.thetrackr.com

They're giving them away for free, but it may take some time to get it unless you want to get pay an extra charge for higher priority.

It looks like it might be small enough to fit inside the butt cap, and it will definitely fit inside a case. If you get separated, it sounds an alert. If your things get stolen, it sends you the GPS coordinates when other TrackR users come within range.

Isn't that what they are supposed to do? "Deal with not good situations"?
....As a profession?

That is why some Officer are Oath Keepers, some are not.

Most Cops want to go home at night, more than be honored at their funeral. The job pay OK, but not that OK.

Guy I know had his Car stolen on the way job in a local Prison, he had LOW JACK, called had it activated with in minutes of the car being stolen.

Local Police Agency had 3 Cars that could have tracked the Low Jacked Stolen Car, but two of the Cops with the Low Jack Equipment were off that day, and their Car were take home units.

The guy who worked at the Prison did get his Car back stripped a few days later when the Cops came back to work. White the Low Jack Tracking Cars.
Technology is great when it works.

GPS Tracker

Anyone considered putting a GPS tracker in a case?
You can purchase a small GPS tracker on ebay for $25.00. Might be cheap insurance to track down a thief.

You can use a GPS tracker http://www.zoombak.com/products/universal/

And use a 2 piece child tracker which works when your unit goes further then the set limit say 100 feet an alarm goes off in your pocket.

The GPS will tell you the current location usually within 500 ft Put the web address in your smart phone.
If you need to know where the unit is go to the web site put in your password & it will show you a location if it's moving it will show you a trail.
If the unit gets shut off or battery goes dead it lets you know it last location.
The unit will stay charged for about 3 days on a full charge.

The child units (NONE GPS) are 2 units that will sound an alarm if both units are separated more than 150 FT or less.

One for your pocket & one for your case.

If you use Both the GPS & the child alams you should be able to use the bathroom without worrying to much :-)

I'm not one who knows what's available or how they work. But as a person who is interested in the OP's topic, I'll add a comment about a feature I would want for such a device. I would want a permanent record of all locations the device has been to and how long it was at that location. If the battery life on these things is so short, that permanent record would be very helpful. You could find a location where the cue/case was parked overnight for a few nights in a row. That's likely the thief's residence (or at least the residence of the poor sap who bought the cue from the thief).

Lots of good input in this thread. Thanks to all and to the OP for starting the thread.

Sounds more like you are saying, "cops are great when they work".

Sounds like you are saying, "Let's not invest in the tracking devices mentioned in this thread because most cops are not oath keepers, or are lazy, or will be off duty when you need them. So don't bother with the technology, because chances are the cops will hinder your efforts at recovering your cue anyway."

That's what it sounds like you are saying.
