grandpa's cue

My grandpa recently gave me his pool cue that he used in the 70's
he said it was somewhat expensive when he bought it at a billiards shop in st louis.

All it needs is a new tip before I start using it but I was wondering if anybody knew the brand or has seen a cue similar.

also, i'm new to the forum and have been lurking a bit.

Nice old cue Adams I think. Butt sleeve and bumper are right for a Ritch ,but pin is wrong.

the joint was the only piece that looked a little rough.
still screws together good and rolls straight.
it was kept inside the whole time.

definitely going to get a new tip on it and have it cleaned up good next time I am in evansville
 
Cue doesn't belong to you. It belongs to your son/daughter and then your grandson/granddaughter. And hopefully will be passed on and on. Thank you for sharing. Very cool!
 
Titleist Points. My guess it's a custom Rambow or maybe a custom Paradise.
Shaft doesn't match the joint!

nice cue, take the time and money and have it cleaned up well and put a tip on it and play on.

you can polish that joint to almost new and if need be refinish the cue and you will have a great loking player

it seems to fit right still when screwed in.
I don't have a reference point for how it feels when hitting a ball since it doesn't have a tip.

I don't know a heck of a lot about joints.
And the cue isn't on me right now, so I can't take more pictures, but randy, or somebody elaborate on the joint and pin type
 
I think by the looks of the oxidation the joint might be brass. And yes Randy G has sharp eyes.

Interesting factoid, pure, polished aluminum is the most reflective known metal.

RandyG is referring to the fact that the shaft jointwork has a silver (color) ring in it, whereas the ring under the joint collar does not--very odd of any cue to have that as a design element.

I also say production cue. Nice looking, loads of sentimental value, not something that most people are going to have...hit with it and have fun!

i'll have to look at his house again to see if that shaft belongs to a different cue he has. it may have gotten mixed up with one that had a tip on it.

on a different note, perhaps a dumb question.
assuming that shaft doesn't belong to butt as I originally thought.
is there harm in using them together since it seems to screw in tightly and fit?
