Last yr Keith McCready showed up...you never know who is going to show up at this event. It's located close to the PA turnpike and I-81, which makes it very accessible. Inside Pool recognized this tournament last year with a nice write up.

This tournament is in memorandum of Grant Pattison. Like the rest of us, Grant loved the game. Grant was a beloved son, brother, and friend who lived with juvenile diabetes and sadly succumbed to it entirely too early.

Bump.

This should be a good time.... for those of you not familiar with these clubs in PA.... they're DIRT CHEAP to drink in!! :D

Will you be there?
I would've been but It's the same wkend that the Derby starts. :( Devin Kennedy, the guy running the show is the team captain for my scotch doubles league. I also used to work with is wife. Grant's brother Luke used to play on our team when we played TAP. All the folks involved are good friends and I would definitely be there if I hadn't already had plans to go to Derby before they announced the dates for this yrs tournament.

If you can, you should head up to check it out. You should recognize a few of the faces in the crowd. There's quite a few people from this area that always play in Hagerstown when there's a Tiger Planet Pool event there. I forgot to mention that it will be on bar boxes... I would imagine your bar box game is pretty good isn't it? ;)

Who have you been talking to? I just started playing big tables a year and a half ago. When I lived in Westminster, I was 45 minutes from the nearest 9' table so I didn't have much of a choice. Eight ball on the box, M.D. has even action and so do most others. Speaking of which, do you know that guy Dick Magaro from up in P.A. He's an eight ball monster on the bar box!

How would you know :D :D :p :D :D
LOL, I notice beer prices before I notice the price per hour for pool. :D So far, the one redeeming quality that I've found in Pennsylvania is the price of beer. When I can take a $20 bill to the bar, get drunk & still tip the bartender... you KNOW it's cheap! :D

Just bumping this up to the top... it's this weekend all you PA & MD folks. It's fun & it's for a good cause. I hope you get the chance to go. :)

Awesome!

I was looking for something exciting to do this weekend. I'm really no hot shot on the pool table, but there's no action in Western/Northwestern PA (short of a tour stop). I'll definately be there -- looking forward to getting my ass handed to me!

Glad to hear it, and good luck! There are going to be players of all different caliburs there so everyone has a chance. ;)

I normally go to this. Is usually a very good time. I had already committed to a skins game tournament. 1st Sat. of the month for 4 months. If you haven't anything to do this weekend, give this one a try.

Timberly, thanks for posting this on the forum. Is this a one-day-only event?

We had a blast there a while back. The pool culture is not only RICH up in Carlisle, but the people are the BEST. I remember those homemade jalapena poppers, and the beverages were VERY REASONABLE. $20 goes a long way at the Moose Club.

I cannot say enough good things about the folks who run this charity event. They work 24/7 to make sure things run smoothly. EVERYBODY goes home with a little something from that auction, and seeing the donations pour in is heart-warming.

If I get my butt handed to me early today, I could stop by later.
