Congratulations on your win vs. Jeanette! I'm torn because you're playing another of my favorites, Vivian, in the next round. Regardless, I wish both of you the best of luck and am definitely hoping whoever pulls that one out plows through the rest of the field to the finals.

OUCH!! First Sarah then Jeanette. You guys are my 3 favorite players - I am starting to dislike this weeks bracket generator. Keep up the great work, we all hope to see you in the finals.

Darn the pool gods anyway Melissa! Following things in the brackets you got my total respect and admiration! Though you lost to Janet Atwell, from the score and how far into the tournament it was I really wish I coulda been there or that match had been televised.Whew must been a real nail biter!Better luck next tournament! I Know you'll be back in tv rounds!

Congrats on a great finish, Melissa. Sorry to read about your loss to Janet. That can't be easy, but I know you'll rebound and kick butt at the BCA.

You had Viejas rockin and a rollin while you winning and on pins and needles in your loss to Janet. That game was most brutal for even with alternating breaks how could she come back 9 straight after you started with 8 straight? It was enervating to watch from the highest high to the ... I can only guess.

Hi all!

First, let me apologize to Willie for knocking off all his favorite players! But, it is dog eat dog out there...and I was hungry...LOL.

Thanks to everyone for the continued support and good cheer. I had a good tournament...no complaints. Even the loss to Janet is fairly easy to swallow because she is such a wonderful person.

FYI...I was up 7-0...and then 8-1. I lost 8 straight games to lose that match...and I am humbled to admit that I had many opportunities to close that match out. Somewhere in the middle of the match, fatigue set in and I just couldn't shake it enough to muster one more game. I didn't have the best night's sleep...and I was dumb enough to go all day without eating...so my body just pooped out somewhere around 10PM...which happened to be in the middle of the match. No whining...no excuses...that is just what happened...and it is a silly reason to lose. Getting beat by someone who is outplaying you is one thing....but just giving away a match is inexcuseable at this level. (I am not taking anything away from Janet...she did everything she was supposed to. But she did give me opportunities to win...and I didn't take advantage of them.)

AuntyDan and RackinZack - it was a pleasure meeting you! I hope y'all had a good time at the event...and we'll see you back next year!

To those of you who are coming to upcoming events....I am looking forward to seeing and meeting you!!!!

To the rest of you - thanks for your posts and I hope to meet you all one day!

I don't actually number my favorite players, you three are all equal (and Helena T is a close 4th). I just hate it when the brackets are like that - purely selfish reasons; as a fan I LOVE it when you all do well, and I feel VERY disappointed when you don't. I think this will all be a thing of the past however, as soon as you all become ranked #1 through #4; then with the current seeding method it will be later in the tournament before you all have to play each other. :) :) :) Good luck the rest of the year, I hope to see some great matches in Peoria.
 
It was nice to meet you too Melissa. Sorry you did not get the result you wanted the the Viejas but I suspect you'll come back stronger than ever in your next tournament.

(Oh and you may want to pack a few Power Bars in your cue case, I find they are great for late-night tournaments if you miss a meal or 2 during the day.)

Just wanted to say that dispite your loss in San Diego. I thought you played awesome on Friday. You were just firing balls into the pocket with ease while maintaining "Almost" perfect shape. I think if you could keep playing at that level, then there shouldn't be any reason why you wouldn't make it to top 5 everytime. Anyway I was almost certain that you would take 1st or 2nd at San Diego.

Also wanted to thank you for taking a picture with me. :)

You have the talent to win and the proper mental attitude too, so it's too bad that your body wasn't willing at the end for the want of food. There was no food at the event (in the room as in past years) in Viejas except some veggies upstairs for the players I think.

for the sweaters, you had to have someone save your seat to get food or lose it. There wasn't any distinct breaks between sessions to eat either.

Complex carb, energy bars in your case is a good idea but also include some protien ones or jerkey. I have hypoglycemia and couple of hours without complex carbs or protien will make me weak, dizzy and blurry eyed.

So wishing you continued good fortune and now stamina.

Who said you aren't awesome? I would have to disagree with that statement for sure!!!!

Anyhow...it was a sweet win...and I was lucky to have a good group of friends there to root me on and support me.

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself at the tournament...and thanks for being there and rooting me on. I did play well on Friday....I just wish I could have maintained that level of play throughout the event.

And no need to thank me. I should be thanking you for wanting to take a picture with me! I love meeting new people and making new friends!
