Great Night!!!!

Just thought I would let everyone know what a great night I had. My 8ball league is on Saturdays and this last Saturday was awesome!

We play 4 games per night (partners). I have found the sweet spot on this table using my J/B. I broke 3 out of 4 racks and never came up dry once. This allowed for me to have 2 break and runs. The last one I messed up my position, but my partner finished the rack. We were 3-1 on the night. The only loss came from a near break and run.

The best was yet to come....

After the league, a bunch of us top players hang around and play $5 a man partnered racks. Not a big bet, but gets interesting and keeps people in.

Ok.... here goes. My partner and I win the initial coin toss. I break. 2 balls drop we win the game. We win the next coin toss, I break, 4 drop, and I run out. We lose the next two coin tosses and games so we are back to square.

Rubber match, we win the toss, I break, I snap the 8 and win the game (house rule). Next game we win the toss, I break, I drop SIX balls and run out to win the game. Next game, I break, drop 3 and we win after a few safety's. Next game, I break, drop a measly one ball (and almost snapped the 8 again). But I put together one of the nicest break & runs I have ever done.

At this point, one guy on the other team yells "I give up!" Then we promptly lose half of our winnings back to the other team shooting darts. LOL. My partner and I suck at darts LOL.

Anyhow, I have had good nights, but I have never had a night like that until I bought my Varney J/B and began reading the techniques and watching the videos posted here. Every time I broke, something fell and I parked the CB in the center of the table. These breaks allowed me to focus on my intended run out pattern but more importantly, I was able to execute with out having to break out of trouble spots.

I know there isn't a magic cue or technique or anything like that, but I do know I never had nights like this until I:

A) Bought my Varney J/B
B) Began reading threads and watching videos posted here
C) Practiced techniques with both of the above

So my AZ friends, especially Mr. Varney, THANK YOU for helping to take my game to the next level!!!!

Have a great week.

Congrads Craig! sounds like a great nite! also reminds me of how much I need to work on my break.

Very nice winning night! Where do you break from, the side or out in the middle someplace?

Thanks Linda.

On this table, I have the best consistency in the right hand corner of the box, right on the headstring.
