 My grandson has obtained quite a few copies of The Green Felt Jungle an out of print pool & billiards book that has sold for well over $150 per copy and he's selling them for less than $20 on e-bay. Hurry and get your copy now this book was called a "must read" by pool & billiard
magazine's editor.

my favorite out of print pool book

I found my copy of the green felt jungle in a old bookstore. My favorite out of print book would have to be The Lions and the Lambs. If you havent read this one, you should check it out.

I would be surprised if that book sold for $150. Buddy Hall's Rags to Rifleman has, I don't know why.

Here's an ebay listing of various editions for sale.

Looks like the last printing was 2001. So it's not like super rare. I think the "150" figure is a bit of marketing but Susie's post worked... I'm getting a copy. But there are several ones on ebay and many of them are showing at under 20 bucks. If I had an ebay account I could look at the completed auctions for it and see what the typical final price was after all the bidding was said and done.

The author of that book posts here sometimes and I seriously doubt that book has ever been sold for more than 150 dollars...maybe one or two copies to knuckleheads. I like the book, but never heard of it being desired enough by pool players to pay that price.

I think Buddy's book has actually sold years ago for over 300 bucks on an Ebay or Amazon sale. Most copies are in the 50-150 range. Its actually a great read with some very cool photos in it. I have a perfect signed copy and wouldn't sell it for 100.

Eddie Robins books go for 100 to 150 each...unless you buy them from some of the D-Bag thieves posting them for $650 on AZ for two one pocket books. The author was selling them on Ebay years ago...I'm not sure if he still is - they were only 100-140 bucks each.

I tried to have my library find The Lions and the Lambs available somewhere...no luck. I'd be happy just to read it at the library, without even taking it home. It seems pretty rare...Jewett probably has one for sale, I'd guess.

Send a pm to Jungledude. He is the author of the book. He was selling signed copies a while back and may have more.

Sorry!

I have seen the book listed for as high as $169. However Jungle Dude, the author sold several shipped for $15 recently and probably will still sell them at that price or close to it. I say support the author and a fellow long term AZB member, buy straight from Huber.

Ms Dore, I am truly sorry to give you this kind of a welcome to the forum but I have to support the author who has put his hard work into writing the book over somebody else selling them for about the same price.

Oh, a word of warning to other readers, there is another book out there with the same title as cheap as 99 cents. It has nothing to do with pool.

No problem with sale of my book

:) I have absolutely no problem with Ms. Dore or my grandson Branden
selling copies of my book, "The Green Felt Jungle" as I'm to busy to actively push the book. It does disturb me though that people are selling used copies on Amazon.com and E-bay for much inflated prices. Buy from the grandson on e-bay to make him some spending change, and thanks to those on this site for their loyalty. :) :)

I have a second printing signed by Woody and Buddy both. As a former book bindery employee {27years} I was appalled at the way the book was printed. Different type styles and sizes on different signatures makes it hard to read, especially if you're an older person. I was really surprised to see this, must have been a job shop type company.
I liked the book but the asking prices still have me shaking my head sometimes. I've dabbled in the used/rare book trade for better than thirty years.
