greatest & most memorable accu-stats matches & moments

I've got one that no one has mentioned--Strickland vs. Reyes from April, 1988, in the finals of the Tara Open in Atlanta, Georgia. Incredible match by both players in the prime of their careers with Reyes reaching the hill first at 14-12 and Strickland coming back to win 15-14.

the Varner/Sigel 9-ball match

Varner was down 9-2, and Varner only missed one shot in the last rack.

Wasn't this the match where Varner missed the 9-ball at the side pocket for the match, and the nine-ball came to rest right up against the cue ball (safing Sigel), and Sigel was so disgusted he blasted the ball off the table, and basically gave the match to Varner?

The 1992 Maine Event-14:1 Efren vs. Rempe

Efren ran a 130 something early in the match, and just could not put down those last few balls. Rempe was making a comeback, 40 and 50 balls at a time, and missed a hanger to let Reyes back to the table.

When Efren got to 149, he played himself out of line, and was left with nothing but a backwards cross side bank. He moaned and scratched his head for a while, then slammed the ball home to win.

I've seen matches that were played better, but this was one of the most exciting.

He didn't give him the match, but tried a shot instead of playing safe and the CB went off the table. He tried making an impossible jacked up shot and said cue ball went flying giving Varner the game. Great comeback though.

One of the craziest things I ever saw. He could have easily played safe and left Nick on the end rail.

I like Corn Bread Red on the Segal/ervilno 1P match in the booth with Buddy/Grady commenting, you gotta to be my age or older to fully appericate it.

I also love Cardone comments when Efren fires in the "Z" shot. And Earl in the back ground too.

My favorite was Fatboy's match with Earl at the Sands. Fatboy made the nine on the break twice in a row and Earl said, "Who's this Fat boy and where did he come from?" You responded, "Rack 'em kid!"

See, I can dream too.

Grady proclaimed himself the "greatest 9-ball player in the world", and then proceeded to lose his next match (hilarious laughing by Incardona), with Grady protesting his telling of the story.....

That is funny in of itself, espescially knowing grady's disdain ( or supposed disdain ) for 9ball and all

My all time fav Accu-stat tape is the 1999 Carl S. Conlon Memorial World Cup 3-c - Semih Sayginer vs Sang Lee - Semih wins first 2 sets - Sang takes last 3 in a row best of 5. When Sang was on he was on.
