Grey felt?

Tournament blue or green are the only acceptable colors for a pool table. Red, gray, black, purple are all garbage imo

It looks fantastic on English pool tables. Though, if I played American pool, I think I'd prefer blue or green cloth.

I prefer tournament blue but I think grey would look good. Karl Boyes has grey on his table on youtube and it looks good to me. I have no experience with grey so I can’t answer your other questions.

I don't think grey is bad but 860HR does not come in a grey color. I like tournament blue it's the standard wherever I play. If I had an lighter color table like clear oak on my diamond I would def have gone with tournament green rather than blue.

Prefer the tournament blue but I do like the gray (silver).
Contrast is okay between cloth and object ball.

Tournament blue for me. If I had to pick another color it would be gold. I've never seen one in the wild, but have heard many good things about gold cloth.

Rule #1 is make sure it is a brand name, quality cloth. Next, gray will give good contrast for most all ball sets. If YOU enjoy it and it looks good with your decor / space, please enjoy. Don't worry about what we all think. My table is about the color of a confederate soldier's uniform. I have had it for just over 20 years now, and it is still playing great and looks pretty good for its age. It was Mali cloth.

When I bought our table I let my wife pick the cloth. It’s a blue-gray. Had a real junky light at first and it was hard to pick up the edge of the 8 ball on a long shot. Better light solved that issue. I think I have her talked into a tournament blue or tan when it gets changed out.

Not hard to keep clean.

Pool table cloth should be green.

Any other color is blasphemy.

What color is easier on the eyes?
We see green with ease because of how light reaches our eyes; the human eye translates waves of light into color.

Some scientists and researchers also believe that because our eyes are at the peak of their perception to detect the wavelengths corresponding with the color green, the shade may calm us down.

With less strain to perceive the colors, our nervous system can relax when perceiving the tone.

This sedative quality of green may explain why there is so much of it in hospitals, schools and work environments. Historically, actors and actresses would recess to green rooms after so much time looking into bright lights on stage, though modern “green rooms” are rarely painted green.

Grey looks good with a black table. That's a color combo that I'm considering using myself. Unfortunately HR doesn't come in grey so I'll probably use tournament blue.
