Griff's 2026 US Open events

Mark Estiola just knocked out SVB (5th/6th) in the 8-Ball event, 8-5. Shane lost 2 games on dry breaks and 2 resulting from poor position. Estiola played well.

Roland Garcia was playing Gorst and pocketed a pretty sick object ball jump to continue his inning. I'll try to find a link.

And the 8-Ball champion is Fedor Gorst, with an 11-3 win over Garcia in the Final.

Gorst went to the table in 12 of the 14 games and was error free in all but one of those games. He had 6 B&Rs on his 7 breaks and ran out on his first visit in all 5 games where Garcia did not break and run. Only one of the 14 games went to the second inning.

SVB is in the Bank Pool event, which started today, but Gorst is not. I guess that means Gorst is leaving Las Vegas to go to the European Open but SVB is not?

Well, he is good enough to be an APA SL-7 in 8-ball.

SVB with some unforced errors (only takes a couple) kind of like the 10 ball. No idea what he's doing on the phone but maybe just a good way to pass the time instead of staring off into space - noticed when he and Gorst played Fedor was grabbing the phone when he sat down - it is a little odd, but that's the new world. It doesn't seem like a problem, but . . . prohibiting phones being out and used during play wouldn't do anyone any harm and maybe give the matches a little better look - the standard of appearance was good - not hard to do!

Van Boening and Morra are now playing the final of the Bank Pool Championship. The match, a race to 6, has been going for 2 hours, and they are tied at 3-3. Morra beat SVB in the final of the 10-Ball event last week! Can he foil the king again?
