Piloted ivory with a flat face shaft? Collars look like R series, points seem too long though. Looks 70's/early 80's.

A piloted joint with a flat-faced shaft?? Why no pilot on the shaft? I have a Schon with an Ivory joint but the shaft and joint are both flat-faced(Pictured below). Looks alot like this one.. Also the pin looks bigger than a 5/16-14..I would have figured it was a 3/8-10 if there wasn't an insert in the shaft. Must be the distortion from the picture..I'm stumped..

Yes, it's an R-era Schon......not sure why the piloted joint and flat face shaft, though. The joint is implex material, not ivory.
