Guess who made this cue. A hint, the black on the shaft rings faded to a purple color.

(Also, it is a trick question)

I'll show more of the cue if no one gets it in a few days

Well honestly it is design mans do, imitation is highest form of flattery.

Now Dave B’s Cue’s have unique rings, no one has matched yet.

The rings on the joint (and you saying its a trick question) make me think its from a bigger production shop, such as Palmer, Adams, Helmstetter, Huebler, etc.

It's an interesting bird. In 1980 or so, a Philadelphia cue dealer took a pair of Gus shafts to the Balners and asked for a cue to be made to house these shafts. (The Gus cues for a short period in the late 70s had a really dark purple veneer instead of black because he was out of stock on black veneer, there are some cues with faded outer veneers that helps to date the cue)

Palmer had to get a joint ring and 5/16-14 pin from Gus because they didn't use those parts normally, married up to a Brazilian Rosewood player cue.

Pretty neat hybrid, dead straight and solid cue, the steel joint is massive and heavy. Really punches the ball, nice easy action.
