That looks like a Brunswick Gold Crown II (though I'm not certain). The fact that the crowd is racially mixed AND there are several people wearing heavy outter wear leads me to believe this is a room in a city in the Northeastern part of the US. My guess would be New York City though Philadelphia is a definite possibility. I'm also guessing the pic was taken in the early to mid 70s.

I thought the same thing and googled it but got no results. The underlying problem is, there is a reasonable chance the room no longer exists. Even in MY "pool" lifetime, I can run off names of a dozen rooms in New York City alone that are no longer and I doubt most people here would remember many of them.

There is a place in Indiana called Golden Q Family Billiards... not sure if that's it though.
And another Golden Q in Elmhurst, Queens.

His stance is terrible,almost on his toes and leaning in on the table.
His grip is worse.No way in hell a ball can be played with that death grip.
And did you guys notice how low the elbow is on (what looks to me) that follow through??
So I'll decree,for all of AZ.....there is no way this guy ever played two balls in a row.Had to be lucky to play one imo.

To me, his upright stance was what gave me the clue that it was the "Meatman", Joe Balsis. Also those big hands were another give away. Notice that he keeps the cue stick level.
It also looks like Cisero to me, in the background.

I figure this is Joe Balsis in his early to mid 40's, so this would be about 1965.
In its history, The Golden Q in Elmhurst, Queens had two locations, both on Queens Boulevard. Up to about 1968, it was in one location, and then moved to it's more familiarly known location. The Golden Q of 1968 and on did not have those poles in the exhibition playing area and did not have a digital scoreboard, so we can rule that out. Though I went there a few times, I don't remember the pre-1968 Golden Q, but I'm guessing this isn't it.
Some may recall that there was another Golden Q in the New York city area and that was The Golden Q in Staten Island. That's another possibility.
Finally, I concur that this is a Gold crown I. My dad has had one in his basement for nearly forty years.
