Does anyone know where the tournament will be streaming or if it is covered on ESPNSTAR Asia?
Thanks

Tourney runs from July 28

Shane is there! He had an eight hour layover in L.A. and I was going to go with Torrance Chris to pick him up and bring him to my house to play some pool and hang out. I only live 15 minutes from the airport. Unfortunately Shane's flight from Toronto got delayed five hours and he didn't make it to L.A. until 11PM. Too late to do anything since his connecting flight was at 1:55AM.

Chis hustled me to play some pool meanwhile. Believe it or not he asked me to play him some Banks. I'll let him tell you how that worked out, if he cares too. :)

Good!
It will be interesting to see how Shane does in a Guinness tournament. I used to live in Thailand (2005-08)where pool is huge.
Guinness matches were shown in sports bars and primetime on ESPNSTARS, but they still hadn't heard of SVB, even after he won the US Open.
There was just no coverage on players outside of Asia.
The British expats I used to hang out with insisted it was over for American players on the "international standard" and that the Guinness tour was the highest "standard" of play.
Well, we'll see...
Its also been rumored that Alex will actually make it, speaking of "high standards"

What have you heard on that , Jay?

Alex is definitely playing pool again. He needs the money!

One of the promoters in Bangkok asked me about bringing a top American player to Thailand, and Shane was at the top of his list.

I don't know Shane, but I'd be happy to help him get over there.

There is a big tournament coming up in a couple of months in Bangkok. Many of the top Asian players will be there including Efren & Lee Van.

Same In Bangkok

There are many unknown monster players in Jakarta... SVB does not have to like it...

Appleton came to Bangkok after he won the World 10-Ball tourney in Manila.

He played in a local tourney against the Thais & expats & came in third.

Thats good news - I was reading the earlier thread that he was into cock fighting or some d*** thing.

There should be streaming available - I remember watching Guiness events on "sopcast"?

and someone posted the exact link.

Hey too bad TAR doesn't have an Asian affiliate. Those players would be linning up to be in a TAR match. Asians love to gamble and theres never a shortage of backers. How about another Alex vs. Shane...."live from Jakarta!"

(Alex just has to remember to get get stuck 20 games again)
