Guinness World Series Of Pool 2011

Ko Pin Yi plays absolutely perfect in the Semi and Final. he has a really really strong game. And you know what he is only 23 years old LOL . 2 times world junior champion and now I think he will pick up a world title soon .

Btw, I would love to see a money match race to 100 between these 2 .

I was surprised by the prizes as mentioned on the main AZB page:

1st $41,000
2nd $11,000

That's a big step.

Ko Pin Yi is the same guy who at 17 or 18 ran a 10 pack in the finals when down something like 8:1 to win it 11:8. I am certain that I do not have the details right but it was on that order and a monster accomplishment. I believe it may have been against Dennis Orcullo as well.

Conrgats to Shane though to do so well on in these triple tough events. Especially since he had to fade the travel and the culture shock and the loss of luggage. Well done.

It was against Dennis Orcullo at the Bangkok Open in 2008 or 2009, Dennis was 14-4 up in a race-to-15, then made a mistake at match point.

Ko Pin Yi took the rack for 14-5 and in 2 separate visits, strung together 10 racks to take the win, with Dennis visiting the table only once during those 10 racks to get out of a safety.

Any chance that someone has the video of this match ?

When you break dry 4 times with alternate breaks at this level your in big trouble . The rails on the table looked lively , i thought the corner pockets looked big but they both hit the points and rattled a few in so maybe it was just my perception , the camera work was great .

I noticed Yi motioning to balls he didn't have to call like he was letting a cameraman know his intentions so he could get into position .

I have to say the way Shane broke it looked like those were bad racks. He hit the break square and the second balls went nowhere near the side. It is possible to give a bad rack with the magic rack even when there are no gaps. It should be rack your own since refs have demonstrated they don't know how to rack. Just look at the US open from last year when Mika was getting bad racks.

Also can the payouts be any more top heavy? Seriously $40k for first and 10k for second. If you want to do that you might as make it winner take all. Pool will not be a legitimate sport until the top 32 can all bring home 5k+.

Congrats to the champion, he played almost perfect pool. Shane can play that speed too, I've seen it first hand.

I noticed a lot of shots that I didn't think had a chance of going in, rattle the pockets and go in. Seemed to be a big advantage for Mr. Yi.
