The Gulyassy break jump cue built by Samsara is now officially over. I have a few left for sale but when they are sold the cue will be gone off the market. There were about 350 built over all. I think this was the best break jump cue that I ever used. I could jump full cue with it which came in very handy at the Derby City Classic this year. I beat one opponent from England with 2 jump shots when I was on the hill to get in the money. I break the balls unbelievable for me with this cue and I think it has been the most elegant production break jump cue that I have ever sold. Now for the real story. These cues were the cues that X breaker had ordered from Samsara and because of unfortunate circumstances were never finished for Richard. Jim Statum at Samsara contacted me and asked if I was interested. I jumped at the thought of having a production cue made by Samsara. I think he is the best in the world, and his work proves it. We changed the rings to Bacote and I designed the new shaft taper. I am offering the remainder of the cues with choice of shaft tapers, one like the X breaker and my new taper. I also offer the cues with G10 or my phenolic tip. I am also personalizing the cues with your name engraved in the butt for the last cues that are remaining. I only have black and black with wraps left. My number is 864-458-7662.

any pics available?

This is an outstanding j/b.. by far the best I've owned.

Mike, will you continue to warranty broken ferrules on these as you have in the past?

Always have and always will on my cues.
There is a $25.00 return shipping and handling fee for warranty work.
Mike

I'm not familiar with these, how do they compare to the original Sledge Hammer?

i've tried both and i like the gulyassy by samsara better. i probably would of bought one long ago if the black wrapless had the same ring work at c and d around the handle that the wrapped does. really sporty looking.

here's mike's website and pictures of the cues

This cue is 2 levels above the Sledgehammer that was a legend in the cue business. I used the Sledgehammer and the control factor is unmatched. I used to lose my cue ball but with the new Gulyassy taper I repeat my break pretty regular. The full cue jumping is what I am talking about that is so amazing.
Ask my opponents who had got a dose of it. Ask Steve Moore, Ron Parks, and the man from England (don't remember his name) who got out of his chair when I was hooked of the break and once more when I hooked my self on the 7 ball.

Just an update on the cue sales. I sold 4 yesterday and I do not know if they will make it the Expo this year. I have leather wrapped Gulyassy/Samsara break jumps also. These I am selling for $430.00. with your (nick) name engraved and free shipping. I have leather with lizard prints and gator, ostrich, elephant, and textured leather. 864-458-7662

I currently have one of Mike's J/B's (see my signature) and I love it. I can pound my breaks, jump with a full cue and the craftsmanship is top notch. I really love my Gulyassy and it gets a lot of attention from players.

Props to Mike.

Thank's for the feedback.

I read it like the old Sledgehammer(SH - which is a Gulyassy cue) has a different tapper then the one mentioned here. Is it a X break tapper in the stock option or could there be the same tapper as the SH that I'm using?

The SH I use now is for me a great cue. I break good and I find it really nice to jump with. So I'm just trying to narrow it down to what the differences are in comparison. And these where made by Samsara or did I get that part wrong?

I have the x breaker taper that is very similar to the old Sledgehammer taper, (gets bigger as you go back), where the new taper is somewhat the same size for 15 inches from the ferrule. Samsara made the cues, but I have shafts in both tapers with both materials for the ferrule/tip, canvas or G10.

Is G10 the tip that was used on the X Breaker? How would you compare the performance difference to the phenolic tip?

The X breaker tip is actually a hair harder than the cue ball. It does not hold chalk as well as the canvas tip which is a hair softer than the cue ball.

I would like to thank everyone for the great response I have had for these cues. I got a call from Billy Incardona today to get one of these cues with his name on it. What a great story teller he is. He told me a story about when Earl and Mike Siegal played before Earl ever played in any tournaments. Mike was the worlds best back then and Billy had heard of a kid in Greenville, South Carolina that played for large money. He brought Mike down to play this kid in a barn outside of town that had one Gold Crown. They played for about 12 hours the first night and were even. Billy said that Mike was complaining how Earl was getting lucky. Billy said Earl would push out behind a ball and of course Mike would give the shot back and Earl would jump the ball and run out. Mike could not believe that this could be happening because this was the first time anybody had seen anyone jump balls. This was before anyone even thought about a jump cue. Now think about it, back then they must have been playing on Mali or Stephens cloth, probably backed, not the easiest cloth to jump balls on. Billy told Mike that either he had to learn how to jump balls immediately or start kicking the balls in. They played the next day to a stand still again and Billy and Mike decided to leave the young man alone.

I just wanted to mention that by coincidence, I have exactly this cue. I purchased one of the X-breaker cues built by Samsara. The workmanship and build quality is outstanding. I then later on got one of Mike's shafts directly from him. I got the one with his new taper and one piece phenolic tip/ferrule. I have tried every break cue under the sun, and I must say this is an EXCELLENT cue. His taper is more like a really long pro taper. It feels very good, and inspires lots of confidence in just unloading on the cue ball. However, it also feels great for a nice controlled stop-shot like break. The whole cue has a remarkable sense of "feeling" given having a phenolic tip. While I agree that the jumping capabilities are as good as anything, I personally feel that it is the breaking capability that really has me hooked (so to speak).

HIGHLY recommended.
