Hey guys,

Thought I'll ask here and then email mike. Do you guys know if there is a warranty on the tip? I know Mike gurantees that phenolic tip will not harm the cue ball but what if it is the other way around.... my tip got split in half from a break and it went down the shaft. Good thing I noticed it before I used it to break again

Wow, that sucks, sorry man.. please keep us posted on this, I'm anxious to see how this is handled.

Hi there,

Just send Mike a mail, he'll ask you to ship him the shaft and take care of it.

Similar thing happened to mine, I called him and he immediately said he would replace it. I sent it to him and he sent me back a brand new shaft at no charge, just $10 for shipping. He overnighted it to me and I had it back within 5 days of sending it to him. Perfect customer service. (you must have a cannon break, like me!)
:p

Yea he will fix that anything else and you are screwed hah. I had one with the second joint incredibly out of sync and the 2 pieces were off about a eigth an inch plus the bumper came off and the butt cap. No fixie that for me. The model I had was made over seas I think.

Eric.

I had a similar experience, myself.

Or should I say, one that cost me $70 for them to "correct".

I would still do business with them again, though.

Ok here is what I see...
First of all this is the very first of the canvas that I've EVER seen crack. I use a lot of this stuff and give a lifetime warranty...I've yet to have a single one come back. I highly doubt this is one that Mike made personally himself. From carefully looking at the pics I believe this one was made with the cap too thin...I can see a sunken circle in the crown which seems as if the cap was indeed to thin causing it to be a weak spot. Once it sunk, then the sides started cracking as a result. Thats why I make mine with at least 1/2 of the top solid.
Mikes a stand up guy...I'm sure he'll make it right. And yes...Mike has it in blk or brown. Good luck.

The ferrule looks shorter than the standard 1" ferrule. Was there any work done by anyone to the ferrule? Just looks a little shorter than the ferrule on mine. Might be the reason the top caved in.

Sorry can't see pics here at work. Are we talking about the black phenolic tip on the original sledgehammer or the brown newer version tip that's subject to breaking??

No work has been done on the cue. I got the cue brand new from koinnkid(troy) on a trade. I just measured the ferrule...including the cave in part it is 31/32th of an inch long.
