Gus szamboti holy grail

Gus was very innovative as one of the fathers of custom cue making in America. Beautiful example of his work here. Congradulations and thanks for sharing Randy. I think Barry's cues are pretty darn nice too. Szamboti. It doesn't get any better.

Wow what find.....

Congrats Randy, Oh I'd love to put a cue like that in my collection. Super pick up...

Thank You for the nice comments. I thought you all might enjoy the pictures as I always enjoy all pictures of the cues here on AZ. I was very blessed to have gotten this cue although the grandkids don't have a college fund anymore. I guess they will have to climb in the ditch with a shovel with me. Yes Barry's cues are my favorites as well and I have added a few to the collection as well.

Absolutely amazing piece of billiard history. I hope you use it as it was intended.
Enjoy it in good health,
Dan Z

Szamboti

Yes I hit with it or one of my Gus or Barry's every night at home. I am still no good but they all hit really good. I still can flip a coin over which cues hit the best Barry or Gus. Both were and are phenomenal cue makers.

Big

Thanks for sharing this masterpiece. Even better knowing that the cue gets some table time.

You where are very lucky with that situation to flip a coin and play many Szamboti's:eek:
Now it's time to show us your growing Collection:wink:

Gus

I will be meeting the original owner at the SBE that I bought this cue from. He is bringing a small essay on his interaction and the process of working with Gus to build this cue. It will be a special part of this cue for me.

Sorry to edit your post, Randy, but I did laugh out loud
when I read this...haha! I don't have grandkids yet, but
I do know where you're coming from.

What a super idea, whether it was yours or his. I love to
get as much history as a can on the cues that I acquire.
It doesn't always work out as well as I want it to and it's
even rarer to have something in writing. What a memory
it must be for the previous owner to have experienced
the making of this cue with Gus and I'm glad he's able to
help share that experience with you.

Not sure how I missed this cue the first time around, but
wow, what a cue! 8 point forearms are my favorite and
being that it's built by Gus means that it just doesn't get
any better as far as I'm concerned. Even though I'm a bit
late with this.....a HUGE congrats to you, Sir.
