When I decided I wanted a case made, I called Al and told him he was the guy. I've owned a number of his cases in the past and I'd kept two...one for my daily case and a 4x6 for storage. But, I wanted a case that I designed.

So....I told Al what I HAD to have. The case HAD to be black and have silver hardware. I HAD to have a 22" long pocket to house a two-piece jump handle. I HAD to have a 4" pocket with top and side access for my smaller items. I HAD to have an adjustable back strap. "Tro" HAD to be somewhere on the case.

Those were my MUST haves.

I own a brown 2x4 of his that has snakeskin on the interior of the lid, and I like that, so I mentioned that it would be nice to do something with snake. We talked about options and I told him I liked how diamonds looked inlayed in the pockets. He said okay and we settled on snake diamonds and snake inside the lid.

Here's the fun part. Once he knew my MUST haves, I told him to do whatever he wanted with the rest of the case...design, stamping, etc. I also told him I did not want to see in progress pics or pics when it was done. I wanted to see it for the first time when it arrived at my house and I opened it.

Well, it arrived. I opened it.

Mr. Kinghorn went above and beyond on this case. It was everything I had hoped for and a lot more. The long pocket looks like it goes on forever! The small pocket is EXACTLY what I had in mind. The embossed leather he used for the body looks great. Snake....did someone say snake?

On a scale of 1-10 in every category...design, execution, customer service, being a decent human being...I'd rate Mr. Kinghorn and his cases a solid 861.

Thank you, Al.

Update: Due to life throwing me and my wife a curveball, I'm now selling this case. I'm using the proceeds to fund a NEW tribute case for my family from.....Mr. Kinghorn. I added more pics on the 2nd page of this thread that detail the interior and pockets. I am in no way unsatisfied with Al's work and would recommend him to anyone that is in search of a custom case.

It is for a Lomax jumper :grin-square:

I'll take some pics of the inside for you.

Stay tuned.

Thank for all the compliments. I hope Al sees how much his work is appreciated.

The people that know me personally are aware that I'm a fan of talent, but I'm OCD when it comes to customer service.

Al has always treated me as if I were his number 1 customer...long before I ordered this case. He's a class act all the way.

He has a customer for life right here.

I guess if you like cases, this one's "all right"... :p

(Luv ya bro!)

You do realize there's so much snakeskin in this case that if you drink too much on a league night, you might attack this case with your playing cue thinking an anaconda escaped the local zoo! :D

Mr King:
I've talked with Mike many many many times over the last several months about this build...in each and every conversation he was not only excited about the case, but his compliments with regards to you as a casemaker and a person were non-stop! ;)

I think Al did you proud on this one, congrats on your new case!

Oh yeah. The case begs for some serious cues.

Don't want to disappoint when you open that thing.

Classy and serious but pimped out at the same time. That case is a serious eye catcher.
