Dave Sutton, If You Continue To Try To Slander My Name You Will Be Contacted By My Attorney. It Was Brought To My Attention This Cue Might Be Warped. When I Bought It A Vf I Was Told It Was Straight, Therefore I Posted That It Was. When I Got The Pm. I Immediately Went On The Other Posts & Stated There May Be An Issue.
When I Was At Searings Shop Yesterday We Were In The Process Of Putting Some Cues(including The Haley) In The Lathe To Check For Straightness When The Power Went Out. We Waited About Half An Hour, Still No Power, So We Went To Eat. The Guy Posting It On Ebay Took It With Him, So We Didn't Get A Chance To Check.
When I Got The Pm Tonight(thank You) I Immediately Posted It May Have An Issue. I Have Never Tried To Defraud Anyone. If You Keep This Up You Will Have Legal Issues. If The Person I Bought This Cue From Would Like To Purchase It Back Right Now This Can All Be Resolved. Although The Cue May Not Have Rolled Right Because Of The Wrap, So There May Not Be An Issue At All. I Will Take It To Searings Tomorrow To Put It On A Lathe Then All Questions Will Be Answered.
Sorry To Everyone To Have To Read This S$%^. Jason

I would just like to post here that I have never met Jason face to face. I have however talked to him on the phone on more than a few occasions. Jason bought my Gilbert off of me. Now, I have always been as honest as humanly possible here on AZ. I would not lie or cheat anyone out of a penny. There are a few fellow AZ'ers here that would send out a cue worth a couple of thousand dollars to me without asking for a dime in advance. I pride myself in my word, and thank those guys for trusting me. That being said, I would stake my whole reputation that Jason would not try to cheat anyone here or anywhere for that fact out of a dime. Now listen guys, Jason has one hell of a cue collection going. I think, like 7 Searings alone. He is not poor. He does not need to cheat or rob anyone. It would hinder him here in the future more than help him out right now. Jason, I know you dont need for me to defend you, and I hope you dont take offense, but what I wrote here, I feel had to be said. We all just need to not be so quick to convict. How bout giving someone the benefit of the doubt before using the word "rob" right off the bat. I'm not trying to start a fight. I usually just keep my mouth shut and try not to step on anyones toes, but again, I just felt that this needed to be said.

I'm not going to edit the previous post because some may have already read it. But what I want to say is I'm not accusing the previous owner of selling me a warped cue & if it was implied that was not my intention. sorry. It will be put in a lathe tomorrow then we will go from there.

look at the timeline from the posts I made this public before anyone else . good luck in court.

I posted this cue without checking the cue, my bad. What about the piece of s(*& you sold last year with the video of it possibly being the worst warp ever. It seems like tou may be the one with issues

The difference between you and I is I check my cues before listing them. That cue was damaged in shipping. The package was bent in the middle.
Btw a refund was given the next day. That was a 500$ cue. I have 25 other multi- thousand dollar deals before and after that. All flawless. I can see your itrader is through the roof.

So whats the scoop. Did you check it. Inquiring minds want to know.

Everytime you say lawyer and court your IQ drops 10 points. It wasn't that high to begin with.
I'm waiting for my court papers in the mail. Lolol your a joke!!!

btw what is wanted/fs in this thread

Not taking anyone's side on this issue, but I was wondering if legal avenues are pursued and libel is proven to have occured, what damages could actually be awarded in monetary value in this instance?

If found libel punitive damages are usually a percent of a persons worth. Say you get sued and your net worth is 200k 10% would be 20k if your worth is 20 mil 10% would be 2 mil.

Jason and integrity

I was hesitant to post in this thread. I am always reluctant to get involved in topics involving controversy. I hate this part of the forum.

That said, I want to make a statement about Jason's intregity. I haven't know him for very long, but I clearly feel that he is a person with the utmost integrity. He has been nothing but honest with me during our conversations. I think that Dennis Searing and a few of the top cuemakers would vouch for that statement.

This cue has went through the hands of several collectors that own nothing but the best of the best and this issue has never came up.

There may be a miniscule wobble to the butt of this cue, and if so, so be it. People get on this forum all the time and complain about shaft taper wobbles, etc. For Christ's sake, a cue is made up of different entities. Wood, ivory and other living organisms. Metals: silver, brass, nickel, stainless steel, etc. When all this is thrown together and then finish is applied. There are also atmospheric changes that can cause different effects. Small changes can and will happen.

I don't care who the cuemaker is, the very best cuemaker in the world can have a shaft that ends up wobbling.

I hate to see someone picked apart over small issues. Like a guy like Jason, who I feel always has good intentions. But, it happens all the time on this forum. That's why I am not as active as would like to be.

I have owned well over 100 high end cues in the last 15+ plus years and I will be the first to admit, when I buy a cue, I do not take it through a complete analyzation from top to bottom. I am not looking for every little thing to complain about. Maybe I should, but I am not the only collector like that. If there is a perfect cue out there I would love to see it.

I would have to say that if you looked at every cue that has been has been sold on this forum, a very, very high percent would roll off at least a hair.

Sorry I rambled, but IMHO Jason has done nothing shady. As soon as someone brought this to his intention, he stated he would look into it. And he did. he put the cue on Dennis Searing's lathe and had it checked.

Sincerely,
Jimmy Kissinger

Haley - Runout checked.

Hi,

Jason brought His Haley in my shop asking me if I would check it in my lathe, and asked if I would post the results.
After spinning it in my lathe first making sure each end of the butt was dead center. The center of the cue has a total centerline run out of .0095". The dial indicator measures .019" from low to hi. Divide the number in half equals total movement from zero at that location.
I also checked the forearm, and the dial indicator barely moved off the line. I would call the forearm next to perfect.
Many people will have a difference of opinion on how much movement is acceptable, and what is not. I wouldn't call it real bad, and most definitely playable. If someone wished to have it fixed, a handle replacement would make it perfect. Because of the highly textured leather wrap, when rolled on a table it will look worse than it is.

I hope this helps to answer all the questions concerning the cue.
Dennis Searing

PS; For whom this subject may matter too; Jason showed me the cue when He first got it, and my money says that He didn't know the cue had any movement what so ever, before posting it on ebay, and wasn't positive until today.

Dennis, I am very glad to see your input. Jason is a great guy and I am sure he appreciates the support from someone as respected as yourself.

Take care,
Jim Kissinger

dennis, it's great to have your input on this. i agree with jimmy, sometimes buyers get too picky on these cues. that cue is a number of years old and probably is due quite a few "frequent flyer miles" to each coast. i have the same problem, i check them over when i sell them to the nth degree but barely check them out when i buy them. thanx again dennis, i wish you could post more without having to come into threads like ths.

Dennis,
Thanks for taking time out of your day to help Jason with his cue!The cue is sweet and will make it's next owner very happy!

Jason,
You didn't need to drive all the way from down south to Dennis's shop to do this, but you did! Goes to show what kind of person you are!
Good luck with the sale Jason....my 6 point Searing will be here on Monday! UPS was late today and she will be at the shop on monday! I can't wait!!!!!!

Thanks,
