Happy bday to the great Rempe! This is a little story that involved Jim Rempe,Rempe came down to balto,to running out billiards ,to play Cigar Tom Vanover some 50 dollar even 9 ball,this was in the late 70s,so they start playing ,Rempe jumps out quick and gets like 10 or 12 games up after about 3-4 hours,Tom makes a great come back and with in an hour Tom has it back to even,Rempe grabs the balls like he was going to rack them,but instead looks up at Tom an says,you are a hell of a player and i think i can beat you,but you are wasting my time,so they quit at even,shook hands and thats the last time Rempe has ever came to dundalk!but man what a pleasure,i had witness 2 great players battleing it out for hours,we just dont see these kind of match ups anymore.
