On this day*in 1882 Christina Rambow gave birth to a little boy. And a very special boy he was, for he was one of only two Rambow children out of ten that would live to see adulthood. And of course he was also special because as an adult he would go on to change the cue-making industry forever.
Herman Rambow died in December of 1967 and would have been 129 today.
Ironically, for such an accomplished and talented man, Rambow did not have any kind of marker placed on his grave. So, the Chicago Billiard Museum and a fine group of Gentlemen from across the country are making sure that he will not fade into history without proper recognition. Thanks to their generous contributions, a nice new granite marker is being cut 'as we speak' and will be unveiled before the end of this month.

Hundreds of years after we are all gone, and we're just a fond memory to our grandchildren's children, the name HERMAN JAMES RAMBOW will still be proudly shining in sun thanks to you !
