Fustrated as I have Googled, and Googled, looking for a HARD PVC Case, I can put a 2 x 4 Cue Case in and is Airline Approved.

Anyone have any sources?

Here's a few ideas

I have a hard case that was purchased to hold my golf clubs. You could pack your cue case and clothes into one. I've done it successfully. Just remember the security is going to open it up and rearrange the contents.

You may also want to check out tubular case intended for fishing poles.

You could always make one yourself. Buy some PVC and a couple of end caps. Make sure to write "this is not a bomb" on though so they don't give you any trouble at security :)

I also use the hard golf travel case and pack in towels. If I am not carring too much trading material I use my Halliburton aluminum case.

Thanks - for the pic but I do know what a 2x4 case looks like.

They make PVC big enough around to fit the case in it.

Probably a plumbing supply store.

Shotgun case, Cabela's or Gander Mountian.

AFAIK no-one makes a PVC case specifically for pool cues. The closest you can get are the very nice ABS plastic cases Longoni make. They have the advantage of being purpose made for cues.

However as Hangemhigh says there are many such cases that are made usually for weapons like break-down shotguns that that will fit cues just fine. You can just lay the cues loose on the standard egg-crate foam interiors these usually have and let them be held in place when you close it or spend a bit more for a pluck-foam interior and customize it yourself.

In the Pelican range for example the 1720 model would be the best fit. If you want something robust but a bit more attractive IMHO you can look good-quality aluminium shotgun cases from Americase or Alumatread. These are just about carryable at 14 pounds dry weight.

Bruce, you can find 6" ID, Schedule 40 PVC pipe at a plumbing supply house, and yes, they do make endcaps for it. I just asked Brett, as he is a plumber, and he says it is available. Just so you know, it's gonna be heavy.

The 6" should work, as when I shipped out my Thomas 2x4 case, I used a 48"x6"x6" golf club box, and the case fit in there with padding nicely...allowing for the padding inside the pocket to remain. Just an FYI.

That will work if I do not have to buy a Mile of it.

Your looking for probably a SKB or Peli case.

Do a search for ATA flight cases and you'll find what your looking for.

I don';t know if anybody makes them from PVC. You could probably buy some from a plumber section of any hardware store, cut it to length and cap the ends. If I were you I would just google travel cases for cues or check some magazines. I wouldn't want my $700 cue in some junky PVC. Fork out a lil extra for a real travel case made from aluminum or something sturdy. It will be worth the extra money and added protection.JMHO

He wants to put his case in the pvc tube. I wonder if 6" is big enough?
