Here are the Results of the $200. Added Monthly 3rd Saturday (February 21, 2009) Straight Pool Tournament at Hard Times in Bellflower, CA.

1st Place- Jose "Amang" Parica - $360.
2nd Place- Fach Garcia - $185.
3rd & 4th Place- Jon Berkers, Ramin Bahkitiari - $90. Each

We had a solid field of 22 players. We had matches that had some great safety battles with a few forty & fifty ball runs from the likes of Jose Parica (highest-57). Fach had an excellent tournament day. His matches prior to the finals were all "FACH" with complete focus and surgery of every rack. But at the end... it would be Mr. Jose Parica that would sail through the tournament and prevail as the winner. Fach was able to jump out of the gate with 22 pts until Mr. Parica was able to take hold of the match and FINISH IT.

Thank you everyone for your support and we hope to see you next month. Until then, keep practicing and stay focused.

Considering that our field is capped at 32 players, yes, I would say it's a pretty good turn-out. This is only our 2nd monthly Straight Pool Tournament and we are feeling very hopeful & optimistic that this event will grow in popularity.

Roger is an excellent promoter! He works the phone and the e-mails.
 
I happened to stop by for a little practice, and when I saw Jose there I knew this tournament is definitely in play in only it's second event. Good job, Roger!

What time did it finish?

First of all, Jay, thank you very much for the compliment.

As far as the tournament, the event lasted a little bit longer than anticipated due to some matches that were prolonged earlier in the day. The event didn't end until 11pm.
