Hardtimes monthly this past weekend

Does anyone know who won the Hardtimes Monthly this past weekend. I was knocked out and left before it ended.
They had a great turnout with 96 players. There were players there that
wanted in but 96 is the limit.

There were a few AzBilliardests in the house as well. Jennifer Baretta was
there and I heard did a promotion at a Billiard Supply house during the weekend. They gave away an Olhausen table. I am not 100% how she fared in the event.
For the first time in a while I saw Jerry Brunsetter back in the tournament. I really like watching Jerry play. He makes the game look easy and shoots real very straight. He has to go to an extra game in his matches like the
Pros. Definitely fun to watch.
It was a long tournament and I imagine it was not over until well after 1am unless a couple guys split. I left at midnight and they were down to the
final 8.

96 players is large for a monthly IMO. its $1000 added with a $20 entry
Usually always a few men and lady Pros playing. Good equipment as well.

I just wish it was not 45 miles for me to drive. Here that can be 45 minutes or an hour and forty-five minutes.
If your ever in LA on the first Sunday of every month they will be having
the $1000 added event. On the other Sundays there are still tournaments just
not $1000 added.

Hard Times

Marshall Jung was in the hot seat and had to leave because it got to late. I think he split with King Kong. Jennifer Baretta did not do to well, I think she had problems with the tough equipment. I will get more info and post it in the next day. I played bad and went 2 and out.

Tang won the one pocket on Saturday over Wayne Pullen.

By the way my friend Glen won that table and sold it for $1000 on the spot.

Thanks Steve

I wonder about Baretta but did not get to see her play that much.

One question --- Why does Hardtimes have the "Tournament Room" with 10 tables and the bleacher seating if they are going to rent 4 of the tables out during a "tournament" with 96 players?
With 96 players I thought they should ahve used all ten on that side for the first few rounds at least then "maybe" rent top two like they normally do.
Just seems odd to have a room dedicated for something and then not use it for that something.

Any updates from the event are appreciated. Payouts as well. They should have been good with 96 players and $1000 added.

The tables played very well BTW.

In and Out at Hard Times

I was there and by sheer dumb luck got to play some, and even win a few games, with Jennifer Barretta and Tina Pawloski, but got killed by Oscar Dominguez.

Dominguez. I make that mistake a lot. Keep thinking of the Rodriquez brothers who were race car drivers. That's what happens when you get old and your head gets full of extra stuff and it bumps into the new stuff and gets all mixed up. I changed my original post to Dominguez. Thanks for catching this.

Is the tournament $1000 added???
I was thinking the payouts would have been higher.

thanks for getting the results

Frank, You're forgetting about "green fees." Yes the tournaments used to move way better when they used all the tournament room tables except 1 and 6. I think it was a revenue driven decision to make the other two tournament tables available to rent during all tournaments. Makes cents I guess.

When are you going to show up for the Saturday before first Sunday one-pocket? Its 300.00 added with a $20 entry.

I will probably make it down for the next one if plans go right. I would like to start playing more and playing more on the 9 footers.
Its tough when usually I play a day or two on the 9footers at Golden Cue and then try the tourney at HTs.
Maybe I can make it to Shooters or Golden Cue a few more times this month.
I really which there were some decent tables closer to Rancho. Maybe in the
near future hopefully.
