Has APA ever produced a PRO ?

I know someone that played at the 8-ball Nationals about 15 yrs or so ago as a SL7 and got banned for life for playing too good!
They said he should be in the other room playing in the pro event! :)
True story!

Koop...I know you're kidding! :D Of course, FL never played in the APA...and if he had, he would likely have been kicked out for poor sportsmanship.

Absolutely Scott. FL actually did play APA but my post was definitely a joke.

Yeah, I remember him posting a letter he had received from the APA. In the letter they stated after reviewing the material he had sent them, they determined he was in fact a 'professional' pool player and officially ousted from the league.

Here is a link to the letter that the APA sent Fast Larry that undeniably proves that the APA recognizes him a professional player.

Letter from APA to Fast Larry

The letter is genuine. I think it is the only letter of its kind in existence.

(Efren doesn't even have one of these letters - only the great Fast Larry has one)

That is why it's so funny. HE had to write THEM a letter and explain what a professional he was. Usually it's the other way around if you're actually recognized :D

It would be nice to see the letter that FL sent to the APA.

Also, it's possible the APA just plain did not want him in the league no matter what.

Not to offend anyone or to start something.... but playing in an open tournaments with the big boys does not make you a pro.... even if you do well! you'll never see some of the names mentioned here in a pro only by invitation event.

There are many very good players out there that can become pros if they wanted to be pros but playing good does not make you a pro.

why do people say stuff like this?
is it just to irritate certain people?
what you must know about invitation only tournaments is it has nothing to do with how you play, but more as to who you know. Sure the best few players get invites but the rest ...who knows
Look at the bca tourney in charlotte:
There is no Larry Nevel in the field, is he not one of the 32 best players???
