has efren done this????

Linda,
The snooker pockets on the table he did the run on are a little more forgiving than what we usually see on the Brunswick 10' tables here. I haven't seen the tables at Jillian's, but the 12' table at City Lights in Tacoma should play pretty much the same (if it has napped cloth and not 860 or something similar).

what's o'sullivan's high run in three cushion? i'll bet it's not even close to blomdahl's.

But guess what? Rumor has it that Blomdahl has played 9 ball against Efren twice and he (Blomdahl) won both times. They played race to 11, $10000 each match. One match happened in 93 and the other happened 2 years ago. Both in Tokyo.

Also someone told me Efren is a good 3 cushion player who averages above 1.0. He probablly had a run close to 20.

If Blomdahl has a chance to learn a little about one pocket he can be deadly because of his ball control and table knowledge.

Could anyone verify this? Let's do more namedropping here :)

Cheers

not a rumor. i don't know about twice, but i have a video of the one defeat blomdahl put on efren. blomdahl has in fact won the european 9ball championship , i believe. he can shoot. and he also plays snooker!

i would love to see some 3c players play one pocket.

1.0 average in 3c is nothing special, imo(comparable to between A++++ and open level in pool), and efren plays 3c like a pool player, which don't get me wrong, is a credit to his mastery of all cue sport,,,but he simply doesn't know 3c. he is great for a pool player, of course. i also have a video of efren playing sayginer in 3c, and i don't think there's any way efren is good enough to run 20.

When did Blohmdahl win the European 9 Ball Championships?

Three Cushion knowledge is to playing position what snooker expertise is to pocketing. I have played on a pool league where Blohmdahl and other top billiard players played and had the misfortune (pleasure) of coming up against some world class players during that season. Not Blomdahl unfortunately. There is NO WAY to hook them. No safe is safe as they just go three or four rails and RESAFE you. It's another level of play that most pool players can't even concieve of. Having said that though they didn't ALWAYS pocket balls as well as a lot of the pool players I know and they didn't always run out using the right patterns. Banking was not a super strong point either.

So there are trade offs that become apparent quickly.

I will say this about the 3 cushion players I know who play one pocket. It's like having a two to three ball spot per game when a really good billiard player plays one pocket and knows all the other shots as well.

Efren has told me himself he can't beat those guys.
Btw, the video shows the power of aiming with your body in my opinion.

He shoots so fast in the video, its like he knows right off the bat that he won't make a mistake.

Maybe it's you who missed the original poster's question.

Fred

you are so correct, apologize to bruin70 for jumping at you too. I didn't get that one.

Just a bit tired of the never ending story with Efren, Ronnie and Blomdahl -they are great champions in their own dicipline. And since they are so talented, they can give anybody a run for their money in other diciplines too.

I have seen Blomdahl play 9-ball, and he is a strong player. But I find it hard to believe that Cuetable is correct saying that Blomdahl played Efren in 9-ball for 10.000 USD without a spot.. and won!

they played an exhibition, there was no spot, and blomdahl won 7 - 4. blomdahl won all the safety battles(there were 3 or 4), and made only one mistake(looked like a bank first - then combo into a ball that missed). an odd shot because he seems like a careful player. he NEVER erred on position play, and just ran out.

i don't know why he doesn't play more pool except probably he has no interest in it.

Bump. So let me ask you guys this, who in your honest opinion is better, ronnie, efren, or me. Please repost thanks

you had the lead until you posted the question. at that point, my opinion of your game dropped. however, let it be known that you three + blomdahl(don't forget him) create a pool axis of power.

Thanks bruin for your genius input and your opinions are greatly respected among all of azbilliards. With that being said, we no longer need anyone elses thoughts on who is better between me ronnie and efren, its a tie.
