Has your local pool hall (here in the US) opened back up yet?

Why not? They don't know what they don't know. On one of the cruse ships they were cleaning up they found virus in rooms that had not been occupied in 17 days. So much for knowing how long it lasts on some surfaces.

What's scary is they found virus in the vents .

The mere thought of getting on a cruise-ship gives me the willies. And that was before the 'rona. Just my $.02 here but i think these folks chompin' at the bit to go play pool as soon as a place re-opens are just asking to get sick. Its a free country, i get it ,but why risk it?

I belive the belief is that the reason the ships are so susceptible to large-scale outbreaks of contagious disease is precisely the HVAC systems.

Air is recirculated from room/ room, so isolating is largely ineffective.

Also, the filtration system removes a very low amount bacteria, based n the types of filters they cheaped out on.

I aint skeered anothin, but deep water freaks me dafuq out.

Went on a cruise years back and it was pretty damn awesome. Ship was the Allure of the Seas, if you wanna check it out.

I assume you are referring to Vent in Cruise Ships, most are not U.S. Registry, so they DO not have to comply with the same reg., U.S. Registered Ship do.

Having been on a Cruise or two they dump one load of passengers, do what is nessessary to reload, and do it again. It's about making moola, not passenger safety.

My idea of a cruise-ship is my buddies 23ft. pontoon boat. Those things are AWESOME. Like taking your living room out on the lake. ;)

I do have a frind with boat at Lake Norman, NC and after about 20 attempts, he got me out on it.

I'll admit, it was fun.

You should go back and re-read the CDC article. The virus RNA was found after 17 days, not live virus. So much bad info being spread around like a virus.

NO LIVE VIRUS WAS FOUND.

I just looked it up and found a supplementary story correcting what I was quoting. Very happy to be shown wrong. The original source of the story was a fox news story. I am not surprised it was wrong.

I pay 6k a month rent for my business, going on month 2 of paying with zero income. Not to mention my mortgage (Chase froze mortgages in a California and Ny, why not everywhere else), IRS and our County property tax bill which is due next month. I’m out $30k so far. Painful.

The worst part is I had income interruption insurance, they are trying not to pay because in their mold clause they have the word virus. Apparently I’m not the only one facing this issue.

That should be an easy win in court if you survive long enough to sue. You aren't closed due to a virus being present in you place of business. You are closed due to an order given by a hysterical overreaction to a minor health risk to the public. WTF

They
CDC are the bad guys now?

If you post, "The models show...", you have already lost the argument, and my attention. The models have been way off from the jump and the ones they used for the original projections have been debunked as BS.

New data shows the actual death rate at around one tenth of one percent -right where the flu has always been. No more deadly, no more contagious. The last year NY had a bad flu season (2017-18 iirc), it was more deadly than covid.

My state has admitted to calling ALL deaths covid deaths if the person tested positive. The numbers are BS.

Lastly, for now, is the data shows that if one is under 65, they are more likely to die in a car accident than from covid. If you are still scared it would be hypocritical of you to not sell your car for fear of the impending fatal crash.

Edit to add, maybe the cdc isn't the bad guy but if they had been doing their jobs these last several years rather than studying obesity, gun violence, and racism, (topics NOT in their scope of responsibility), perhaps they could have offered better information to the public.

Models are like best guesses, if you own a Liguor store and have 100 Bottle of Jim Bean Black for sale, no model will tell you sale at close of business today accurately actual sales, you have to look at numbers after closing.

Is English your 2nd or 3rd language? Lol

Our Governor just announced the beginning of a phased reopening of the state, beginning on Monday.

Restaurants are included at 25% capacity. My local pool room is licensed as a restaurant. I expect to be playing again on Monday! ::D
