Have you played with an Eclat cue, or any opinions about them based on pictures?

Hi Justin, I've seen a couple of your threads where you're wanting to buy a nice cue for a couple hundred bucks...I'm not knocking that at all...who doesn't want to find good deal on a cue? My question is why are you so set on having a cue with points and veneers?

I never heard of these cues, so I assume that maybe they are a new cue maker.

I am just curious if anyone on here has ever tried one out?

I think that this one (that I am watching) looks very nice, and it appears to have a piloted radial joint pin on it, which I think is pretty cool and unique.

I am also curious to hear any opinions about Bama cues, and their quality in your opinion?

They look very nice too, I think.

Thanks for any info or thoughts about either of these cues.
I have never heard of Eclat cues, but as long as it has a straight shaft and a good tip you can play as well with that cue as a $1,000 name brand. Just a fact. Just make sure that the balance of the cue, whether rear butted, center, or forward is the way YOU like it.

I just never liked the looks of plain jane cues (that is all). Always loved the looks of sharp points, colored veneers, that are set into a really nice looking birds eye maple forearm. I am really kicking myself right now, because I had a chance recently to buy a really nice looking Jackson that is of the exact image of what I described above, and I decided on a different cue, because the appearance of the 2 shafts that came with it looked really great to me.

Why dont you just get some cheap sneaky or something and start hoarding extra money until you can afford something nice?

That is good advice. I am crazy and stupid though, so I buy cues that I can't afford. Here is a picture of the one I just purchased (that was made by an unknown local Texas cue maker). Hopefully I will really like it. By the way, the blurry picture came from the seller. I have not received the cue in the mail yet.

I look forward to seeing clearer pictures of it next week in the For Sale section.

A Cuetec R360 with SVB signature will take you to the level you are looking for....you will need a enchantress to call the four corners to get the maximum potential out of the cue

So you bought a cue based on a blurry picture made by an unknown maker in Texas and you never hit balls with anything else from that maker...

Along the lines of buying cues your cant afford, if you are gonna do it, do it with something you wont have trouble flipping. Something from a known cuemaker.

You did say something right in your post though...

I purchased the cue purely on a good gut feeling (and I knew that the purchase was a gamble), based on 1 review that I read about the cue makers cues. The few cues out there that I know I would be happy with are either out of my price range, or unavailable from any sellers online. I understand that in the case with this cue, I may have to almost give it away (for next to nothing) if I want or need to resell it, so my purchase was purely on a gamble that I will hopefully really like the hit of the cue. The appearance of the tapers of the shafts look great to me, and the cue also had a radial pin joint (which is the same joint that Diveney uses on his cues), and I have tried cues out from a few unknown Texas cue makers in the past, and they were great players. I think that many great cue makers are from Texas. I think that Bludworth cues are from Texas, for example. Many of these little unknown cue makers may have even learned from some of the more known cue makers. I do not know. I purchased the cue because as crazy as it may sound, I like the looks of it. I think it has a unique look to it (but that may be a bad thing if I need to resell it though). I knew that it was a money loser when I purchased it, but hopefully I will enjoy playing with the cue. Hopefully it will have a nice hit to it. If not, then I might be out a few hundred dollars. It would not the end of the world for me though.

Yup , it will not be , simple another thread of yours for the next best kept underground secret cuemaker seasoning woods in the wilderness of afganistan where kids are taught the cuemaking craft at the age of 5.

This! ^^^^

Justin, If for whatever reason you don't like this cue you just bought and decide to flip it I'd follow that advice above...or if you like this cue enough that you can accept playing with it for a while then skip the cheap sneaky and start stashing cash towards the cue you really want. At least then you'll have a cue to shoot with until you find the "right" one.

I have played the cue game...bought, sold and traded a lot of cues before I found what I like. I had champagne taste on a Mad Dog 20/20 budget so I picked out good looking cues. It took me some time to figure out that hit was more important than points and veneers! That's a weakness of mine as well so don't take that as me knocking what you like.

There should be a sticky thread dedicated to you and your pursuit of pestering everyone on the forum with your rhetorical questions and broken record opinions

Perhaps there should be a limerick contest for Justin.

That is one of those kc cues, from years back, isn't it?

This is unbelievable. You are the person that wrote a good short review about the same cue maker that I am asking about. Or am I wrong, and this is not you, who replied to an OP that was also asking about the cue maker (Oscar Mireles)?

Are you not cesarmorales (looks like the same spelling, of your name, to me)?

I am not pestering anyone. I post up a question on the forum, and it is your choice on either clicking my thread, or skipping right over it, and reading some other persons thread. Did I pm any of you guys (who did reply to my thread), and pester you to please come view my thread, read it, and give me a reply? If any of you guys do not like my threads, then just skip over them. It is that simple.
