Well, it's time to leave the Diamond factory area and the east coast for a while. I'm off to Minnesota, South Dakota...to set up the Diamond ProAm 9ft for Cory Duel, recover another Diamond ProAm 9ft in the area, then up to North Dakota, Montana, Washington State, Idaho, California, Vegas, Arizona, New Mexico...back to California, have to deliver Brendon's Diamond 9ft Professional...LOL...finally! Then a few more trips back up to Washington state, and back to California...oh, deliver the Gabriel's billiards table to Mike Massey sometime in here...then back to Diamond to pick up some tables, then head up to Simonis to start making the DVD's for recovering pool tables...FINALLY!

DVD 1: How to recover bar table slates, including how to scrape off any excess glue, and how to level the slates inside the frame of the table, as well as how to shim up the slate to remove the gap between the slate and the bottom of the rails when installing Simonis cloth.

DVD 2: How to recover Valley, Dynamo, Global rails using Simonis, as well as using a thicker cloth such as Mali.

DVD 3: How to level normal 3 piece slates...other than the new Diamond 3 piece slate leveling system.

DVD 4: How to level a Diamond using the new wedge leveling system for the one piece, or three piece slates.

DVD 5: How to recover Diamond/Gold Crown style feather stripped rails using Simonis cloth, without getting puckers in the cloth.

DVD 6: How to recover home style 6 rail, nbr 6 pocket iron rails.

DVD 7: How to recover 3 piece slate tables using the 3M Scotch Grip neutral 10 glue, stapling only the pockets.

DVD 8: How to extend sub-rails correctly.

DVD 9: How to replace cushion rubber and facings.

Does any one have any other requests, or comments? Please post.

See if you can squeeze in proper install of a rack spot and setting rails to the correct playfield dimensions during assembly/reassembly.

You could add some commentary about room conditions (humidity) and how it affects cloth.

Hope you gave thought to dealer vs. retail pricing.
I'd imagine we would add something like this to our product offerings if the quality is good and the price is right.

How about converting snooker or billiard tables to pool tables? How about how to install the correct rubber and how to find out if you are using the correct rubber for the correct application?
Thanx, Ron www.lccsbilliards.com

Converting tables to something other than they were first made for is not something for a novice owner to try and do in my opinion. To me, that's like putting a Chev 327 into a 66 Mustang, replacing the Ford 289. It can be done, but?????...LOL As far as replacing rail rubber, yes, that gets it's own DVD.

How about a section on doing the old snooker/billiards tables? Or pinned slate?

Hey, if you're going to Mike Massey's, I have a Gabriels in storage a couple of hours from there at my old place...... still crated up-
Just kidding. I hope to get out there in the next week or so to pick them up. I just didn't want to do it yet....lol

I don't know if this is more pool table or furniture restoration but restoring old tables in terms of stripping down, refinishing etc. How to strengthen up areas of the rails that have been stapled so much they are weakened. What glues and fillers to use that will withstand more stapling. Where to get veneers and inlays for restoring antique tables. I think that would be a good reference video for older tables that need TLC.

That would be a great how-to video C&C. I don't think it falls into what RKC is trying to do at the moment but it would be ideal if someone could produce such a DVD even as a collaborative effort.

Rick hit the nail on the head, my first goals are to try and give some kind of guideline to about 95% of the daily work being done around the world in this industry. Refinishing pool tables, depend on what kind of table your talking about is to specific. Pinned slates are not in common use any longer today either. To go above and beyond what I'm making the DVD's for is a more specialized trade, not the kind of work that people are doing everyday.

I'm going to Mike's, I just don't know when yet. I talked with Mike at the Carom Cafe in NY while I was there, I don't think he's going to be back home until the end of this month.
