I have seen some 3 cushion tables that are heated. What temp is used?

The reason I ask is I am installing a GC I and theree is an electric heater
near it. How hot is too hot and what will it do to the table?

At least 10 degrees above the ambient temperature of the room. Most billiard tables are set at 85-90 degrees (Fahrenheit)

Thanks, that's close to this heater, oil filled radiator, it s temp goes to 105
max. do you think 105 would hurt? I guess an outdoor table could get this
hot.

if u have a wood burning stove or fireplace heat it will dry out the area...use a humidifier or a pan of water on the stove...monitor the humidity level where a pool table is installed to assure accurate play.....

Hopefully the person who set up your table did not use wax in the slate seams. A heat source right near the table could cause problems with the wax.

I will have to do the install myself, cash flow, plan on using bondo instead of wax. The humidity is a big concern, I don,t want to damage the table from to much or to little humidity. What is the best playing humidity?
What is humidity high and low so as not to damage the table?

It will be on a concrete floor.

about 35-40% humidity inside..... if out side temperature is below 20 it is a different story, humidity level must be lowered because of moisture build up inside..

The humidity of a billiard table is kept as LOW as possible on the PLAYING SURFACE by the heaters under the slate for several reasons.

First, the cloth can't wick moisture from the air due to it's higher temperature.

Second, The rails and cushion rubber will be much more consistent day in and day out by being relatively dry and at a consistent temperature.

Third, you will NOT damage the table by keeping the playing surface warm and dry.

I would suggest you apply the heating elements directly underneath the slate (frame side down) and insulate with ridged Styrofoam (1" or better). An accurate thermostat is critical to keep the table at a CONSISTENT temperature.
