Thought I would start an intro thread now that I am posting here and not lurking so here it goes
I'm 30 now so my interest in pool started over 2 decades ago when my got my grandmother to start taking me to play on the pool table at the rec center of our local park in Freehold, NJ. From there I started playing avidly during my high school and early college years, spending countless hours at Aldrich Billiards hanging with the regulars (where I also got my first taste for gambling, damn degenerates!
) and then Boston Billiards at school. I moved halfway across the country to Houston and between work and everything else just fell out of playing. Fast forward a decade and a couple more cross country moves and here I am in Meridian Mississippi looking for something to do... why not rekindle my old passion? I bought a new player a few months ago to replace the one I sold off, I joined the APA down here and have been playing local bar tourneys ever since. I was initially discouraged at how bad I was in the beginning... I was 2 and outing a good number of local bar tourneys and I was bumped down to a 2 for a while in league, now I'm up to a 4 and I've taken a few 2nd and 3rd places in the tournaments (I did 2 and out the other week though by scratching on the 8 twice in a row 
) Anyway now my intrest in pool is back and I'm hoping for a trip to Vegas next year despite the table conditions. I don't think Aldrich Billiards is there anymore but would be tickled to see if any regulars from there are kicking around here!
