I dont see why you couldnt place a good number of blankets over the table and then a sturdy piece of plywood and then your ladder. It beats having to buy another ladder or having to hire someone.flyers said:My light is mounted on a 13FT high ceiling. I need to remove it. Any ideas how to safely do it? Can I put a ladder on the slate bed? Plywood sheet across the side rails w/ladder on it? Please help!

I'm in AZ. Bit away from KY. thanks though. I think I may try the 2 ladders with a plank homemade scaffold to avoid putting weight on the table. The Magician said:If you happen to be located in Louisville, Ky or remotely close, I can get you the scaffold to use.
