OB, hands down. I play with a Pro+ and an OB1+. They play very differently but I like them both. I switched from Predator a couple years ago and will never go back!
I will be purchasing an ld 11.75 shaft with Kamui soft tip and black phenolic 5/16 x 14 joint for a Joss butt soon. I'm looking at Tiger, Predator, and OB. Any thoughts or reccommendations?
I love the i3 I got from Jcin but be prepared for the god awful sound of the hit that comes with it. I shoot pretty decent with it but it took some getting use to.

Lucasi makes a "Zero Flexpoint" LD shaft that is made with a Pro Taper of 11.75 standard and comes with a Kamui Soft Tip. A very good shaft, don't know if they make it 5/16 x 14
I'd go with OB. I have a couple Pro+ shafts, and love them. I haven't tried the OB2+. That's probably the one to go with, if you like a softer hit, but the Pro+ is not lacking in feedback.
I know it's different strokes for different folks, but I have a hard time understanding the love for Predators. Yeah, they are very LD, but they just feel dead to me.

I'd like to thank everybody for their feedback. I just placed an order for the OB2 plus with a black Kamui soft tip. The Lucasi and it's price point was very tempting. Once again you guys were very helpful.
My 2 cents advise , purchase cheap cue from Sears or Walmart , use a drill and turn it down to 11.75" using sand paper starting with 80 grits all the way down to 600 gradually. i did it several time. You will have a great LD cue, probably lower deflection than OB2 and others. Best of luck..

Players HXT, cheaper by about 1/2 and comes with a Kamui Soft standard, with a great feel. It does deflect a bit more than the other shafts but not by a large amount.
First you might want to think about if you want a Laminated LD shaft or a Non laminated ld shaft.
2nd is I would be interested in just how much less deflection the shaft has
compared to some of the other cues on the market.
3rd is most people have no idea in a factual measurement how much deflection there shaft produces.
And there is a good chance I am one of those people too but if I was a buyer I would think that the shaft makers would have some kind of video on exactly how much deflection there shafts have..
I think I would be picky about the LD shaft I would buy, and I only say this because I have seen allot LD shafts fail.
I would read thru there return policies if you happen to have a problem.
I am not really a LD shaft fan, I do tend to like the non laminated LD shafts better then the Laminated LD shafts only because of the sound and feed back.
But what I think about LD shafts isn't the topic, the topic is you getting a shaft that pleases you.
Straight up I would contact Bob Danielson custom cues or Royce from OB cues.
I would be straight forward about my fears about how some shafts fail and I would want their personal word that if there is a problem that wasn't caused by some kind of abuse that there will be no problems getting warranty.
Me and Royce have gotten into some disagreements before but I do know he is a man of his word and I honestly think he is making quality cues and shafts.
Bob Danielson custom cues I would call or pm Bob and say I here you make one hell of a LD shaft.
Then let him explain how he constructs his LD shafts and what his warranty policy is.
Sorry to say this but not all LD shafts are made the same and some LD shaft makers couldn't give a shit about the crap they were selling.
I just happen to be fool enough to buy 3 cues that the shafts fell apart in 6 months so
my opinion is bias.
One other thought, allot of cue repairmen make their own version of a non laminated LD shafts.
And its not that hard to make one in a 11.75 mm.
Getting one that will not fail in the first 2 years is not always that easy.
but the one made and I played with shot very good. It was for a customer he loves it, but I am a solid maple fan .
But beware some of these LD shafts seem to have weaknesses .
ferrules and shafts breaking exploding delaminating and joint cracking problems.
One other thought is most of these shaft require a special ferrule.
And in some cases if the ferrule is broken and the factory doesn't repair it and you have a cue repairman fix it the warranty is voided.............................
Bob or Royce is the direction I would send you.
I hope you get the shaft that will make you happy. no pun intended .
