I found a hairline crack in my ivory ferrule. I need recommendations on who can repair it.

Also, I have another shaft for the same cue that also has an ivory ferrule, can anyone give an opinion on having same type of ferrule on both shafts or maybe replacing with a different type of ferrule.

I seem to see some like them the same, some like different ferrules on different shafts for the same cue.

Thanks!

One of mine has been cracked for over 20 years. It does not effect the play. It has not grown any larger. Roger Pettit made the ferrule from an old ivory cue ball when he was working out of the 2-11 in Seattle. It was the first ivory ferrule he had done. It had a hairline crack about half the length of the ferrule. He told me if it ever failed he would change it. It never got worse. I still use it daily.

You asked me why....this is why.(see above)

If you MUST replace it, any compentent repair person will be fine.
