Vass,

Tough call. There are a lot of parts common to Paradise cues on this cue, but I look at this and get confused. The name label looks identical to the New Jersey trophy shop Paradise used. The same with the marbleized plastic. The joint pin is standard Paradise. I have not seen shafts piloted this way looks like aluminun - the buttcap is more rounded than a Paradise. Is the joint aluminum too? That is something Paradise did. As far as the forearm, it looks like a turn-of-the-century Brunswick converted.

I think the cue was built in the early 1960's, east coast, likely New York City or New Jersey - but I am not sure who built it. Whoever did used a lot of the same parts Paradise used.

Thank you Chris,
the joint is aluminum as well.
This cue is straight as an arrow and plays very very sweet.

Thank you once again for your prompt reply

Hay Vass!

Sell it to me! It is a Brunswick that was probably converted by Paradise. I have seen that type joint on older cues that Frank did more likely than not and those rings are something else.
I would also send pics to Helmstetter and see if he made it. His old helper is still there and can I D most of the old work. I am calling you. I bet it hits like crap! If it is 58 inches and hits out of sight it may very well be a nice cue! What is the weight! Where is it balanced together and when can you ship it to me!

This cue is made by Fedunka. A NJ cuemaker from the Palmer / Paradise era. Reportedly worked for Palmer for a time. Now the metal collars on the shafts are a dead giveaway.

For some reason I dont see pictures of the cue,or any links to them? any Idea how to fix it?

Thanks, Jay.

Vass-
The cue is a Mike Fedunka like Joe Van said above. According to the stories that I heard, he worked in Frank Paradise's shop for a while. This cue is apparantly an old Brunswick (early 1900s, perhaps earlier). It was converted by Fedunka who had a noticable Paradise influence (notice the way the pin is secured). Apparantly Mike specialized in conversions.

This cue was refinished about 6-8 months ago by Paul Rubino. I know all of this because you may remember a thread a while back.

I was selling it for a friend. It really is a gorgeous cue. And though we never knew who Bill Sherry was, Paul Rubino did one HELL of a job in the restoration.

The reason Mike bought other blanks is that he was severely disabled in one hand. He went on to buy blanks from Gus and I think he even got some from Palmer. He was a hell of a nice guy, I have been told and rarely turned anyone down. 1981 I had a sneaky pete done by him and he gave it to my uncle just because he liked him.
