This cue was on here once before after it was won on ebay a number of years ago. I tried to find it again while the auction was going, but couldn't. I don't remember it having the brown bumper though. I was interested in it, but the price got to high. Did the auction actually end or did the seller pull it because it hadn't gone high enough? Might be a Verl Horn.

Auction just ended, seller did not pull.

I asked if it was pulled because when I left the house this morning it was pretty much at the amount it ended at, so it got hardly any bids in 8 hours. Did you win it?

I did win. There were a couple last second bids but my max bid from 6 days ago held up.
I will start looking through archive to see if I can locate the old post.

The brown bumper AND ALLEN head screw on the bumper made me VERY suspicious of this EBAY cue as someone wanting all to THINK that it may be a REAL Bushka - is that what you thought with such a high bid on this cue? Interested to know why you thought it was worth close to $900 ?? The brown bumper in the pics seemed to be "roughed up" much more than the cue itself- like someone wanted to make it look old. I hope that you enjoy the cue though!!

I knew it was not a real bushka, the wear on the bumper looked like rubber rot which can happen when cue sits for long time.
I bid on the looks alone, I really like the design 24 white inlays in the rich PH wood and those rings I think it is an attractive cue.

Nice cue....
THIS EBAYER SEEMS TO SELL " ALOT" OF UNKNOWN Balabushka style cues....
like this one-
usually 57 or 57 1/2 long-
old, brown bumpers and UNKNOWN ?

Maybe there is a Florida cue artist or artists working for the UNKNOWN cue company?
Maybe they are also on az and laugh everytime we ask to identify this UNKNOWN cue?

I'm definitely no expert and just curious about whether or not that 'knot' (?) in the forearm just above the points would be considered a flaw, and would that hurt the resale price?

Its a matter of personal taste, I like when the wood displays a little personality makes for a truly unique piece.

The maker of this cue chose to highlight the wood flaw as oppose to discard or hide it, as someone who has a love for wood/woodworking I appreciate this, I do not think it would be something that poses a strucural integrity issue so its more of an esthetic possitive or negative depending on your view point.

When I was bidding I thought it might be an early Black or Tasc, but I am no expert just like owning things I like, not much of a reseller either. I figured the bumper was off an old Heubler and not original.

I personally would not touch cues like this on eBay from a seller who had obvious knowledge of cues from his past sales evident on e bay - it's not like it was somebody's uncles' cue that sat in a closet for the past 40 years and "just" got discovered. Looks to me like it was "made" to deceive and draw a high bid out of false hopes. I hope the buyer is happy for the price he paid- in the end that is all that matters anyhow.

I’ve seen this seller’s cues on eBay. I really dig the style. I personally feel he is selling cues he or a friend makes. It’s a bummer he sells these old looking unknown cues at auction only. Whoever makes them has a great sense of proportions and style.

Interesting theory.

If the finish is an oil one, it would be difficult to pin it as a recent manufacture.
