Help Identify this cue

how important is the weight bolt as far as indentification goes?

the reason i ask is because i took the bumper off my mali and it was the same.

my mali,i'm told, was made by palmer.the points, collars, and weight bolt are the same.mine has a 5/16-18 piloted pin,no insert.could the insert be something that was added later?

Havoc,

I'm pretty sure this is a Mali also from the 1980's. They used the plastic insert for awhile too on a line of cues - I'll look to see if i can find the model number for you.

I just pm'd you about this, but Mali made all their own cues in Sheffield, Mass until the late 1990's, then they started importing cues with their name on them.

Fred Mali was friends with Peter Balner and business associates as well, but Palmer just distributed Mali cues - but neither made cues for the other.

Chris

thanks i'd appreciate it.

contacting Paul Huebler

If you emailed your pictures to Paul you might not get a response. I questioned him once about a cue and he had me mail him pictures. Said he wasn't much into the computer.

national catalogs

eric sternberg(sp?) formerly of chattanooga, tn used to have some national catalogs. i was never able to get in contact with him, however. anybody out there know him?

Just got of the phone with Paul Huebler really nice guy. He said I would have to send the cue to him to look at. Ask him about the weight bolt told him what mine looked like . He said that was not the weight bolt that it was the bolt that holds the but on. I took the bolt out the other day it was steel and about 6" to 8" long it goes all the way into the handle. Just really wan't to know who made this cue.

The Mystery has been solved. This cue is a sideways logo Mali. Now my next question is it worth the money to restore it. And if anybody knows when Mali used the sideways boxed logo. Thanks for all the help you guys are great for helping out new ppl to this forum and Billiards. Hope one of these days I will be able to help ppl out like you guys. Thanks again Jerry
