Help me pick my table (thanks!)

I am looking for the best table I can get with a limited budget. After months of looking, I've given up on used table (no market in my area). I've talked to many dealers, and here are the best deals I can find. Please let me know which you think I should buy. I'm looking for the best deal, but I do want a table that will last and play true. Comments and thoughts that would enlighten me (e.g. which tables are better) are much appreciated. This is a once-in-a-lifetime purchase for a guy like me, so I want to be sure.
All tables are 8'. Prices include delivery, setup, and taxes.

Connelly San Carlos: $3045

Olhausen Belmont or Americana: $2520

Presidential Cap Town: $2100

Thanks so much for the help!

Before I did anything I would suggest check in the Talk to A Mechanic section... I would also seek out contacting RKC (Real King Cobra) ...He travels around the country doing table work...You may have to wait a while for him to get there...but it is worth the wait....or he may recommend a mechanic in your area...

He may have information on where a good used table is......or since you are already looking at paying 3k on a table...you may be able to get a Diamond for not much more.

My personal preference would be either a new Diamond or a Re-Done GC....(done by the right mechanic)...I already own a GC from before Diamonds were offered.......so I am currently in the GC Re-Done process.....(it is a grueling wait...but again..it is worth it)

For a home table, I like the Olhausen. Ive had mine for 14 years and it is in great shape. Plus, "It's American by birth and Volunteer (Tn.) by the grace of God".

There's just no quality used market near me. I've been checking craigslist for months. It's new or nothin'.

What is your market area...It may not need be in your area...It could be in an area next to you and if a qualified mechanic moves it and sets up (the right way) you may end up with the nuts table for the nuts price...

If anything it is worth investigating....Craigslist is not the only source for used pool tables.;)

Where do you live?

Contact realkingcobra. As has been explained, he travels the country and can probably find a used Diamond for you.

My two cents....

I bought a Presidential several years ago. Had it recovered with Simonis 760, added Artemis rails, tightened the pockets, and have been happy as a clam ever since.

Presidential tables are made in Africa, assembled in the U.S. and have an impressive structure that maintains a true roll. With the right mechanic, you won't go wrong.

Diamonds are great tables, no question, but the new GC's are crappy and structurally inferior.

As i said, the most important factor is a good mechanic. Don't know RKC personally, but he's got the rep on this board. Trust him.

But when I say Presidential is a good investment, I'm not kidding.

But you had to put ~$1k in it to get it good...

The OP has to tell us where he is. There are good used tables for sale near him.

I don't think he underrstands the power of AZB.

Where are you located?

At the price range you're looking at, you could purchase and have a good used Gold Crown moved a pretty good distance.

Table?

Can you go bigger than 4 X 8' or is that a priority criteria?

And like previous posts do not be afraid to tell people your location, that way you maximize the potential help you can get from this site.

In my humble opinion, any serious pool player looking to buy a table should always look for near identical equipment to what he's used to playing on. If you don't, you're almost guaranteed to set yourself up for disappointment.

Diamond sometimes sells used tables. You should contact them directly and see if there's anything to be had.
